Pirates is one of the best blockbusters ever. That first one is so much fun. Endlessly rewatchable, solid characters, and Johnny Depp giving the performance of his career. (Before it got repetitive.)

In no way was I trying to diss POTC, I love that movie and I intorduced my girls to all 5 during the early part of the lockdown, really got us through the first couple of weeks - except for the 4th one which is a steaming pile.

I just wanted a reason to post a Michael Bolton gif because quite frankly I celebrate the man's entire catalog.

Agreed, the fourth one is the only truly bad one.

The fifth one really surprised me with how much I enjoyed it, maybe as much or more so than At World's End. I'm still crossing my fingers that they bring back Depp for one last hurrah with all three of our leads back together.

Endgame vs Dark Knight will be interesting. When we had the greatest movie of all time tournament a few years ago, Dark Knight won the 2000s bracket, but that was well before Infinity War/Endgame came out.

I understand this forum's love of Star Wars, so I'm not surprised Zero Dark Thirty lost (though I believe it to be the far superior movie).

I am legitimately shocked that Inception lost to Pirates of the Caribbean.

Inception was great to watch on the big screen and gape at. I've never had any interest in watching it again. For me it's the kind of movie where I can't just pick up at certain point and watch, there's so much to explain of how they get to the point they are at.

The first POTC is fantastic, I will watch it any time it's on. Rush and Depp are brilliant. And it helps we've been to Disney World or Disneyland 4 times in the last 3 years and ridden the ride about 7 times.

And I'm the opposite in that I really enjoyed watching POTC originally, and have caught bits and pieces here and there and enjoyed them. On the other hand, I think I have sat down and made it a point to watch Inception more than a dozen times.

I love Pirates, which I've already stated. But any bracket that has that movie go farther than ROTK is basically negligible in my opinion.

But since we're on a Pirates love-fest, let me post one of my favorite tracks from that movie. (Besides "He's a Pirate", which everyone has heard a million times...)
