i'm trying to fathom watching that much and not getting drawn in. the only thing i can think is if it's something you are only half paying attention to.
I thought the wormhole was created by old Jonas? (like, in an endless loop, the wormhole created itself)Brian Earl Spilner said:
Not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but the creators have said S3 will tie in very closely with S1. (Which is no surprise, but it's probably a good indication that a lot of the scenes we saw in S1, we'll be seeing again in S3, maybe with very slight differences?)
And I'm sure the "incident" at the plant in 1986 will finally be revealed. I'm betting that'll end up being the event that caused a split with branching/multiple realities.
Keep in mind that we have never seen what happened, nor how the wormhole beneath the caves was created. By the time of the first episode it was already there. We only saw it get closed, but not opened.
Idk, it's been a while. I'll need to re watch. For some reason I thought that it was created by old jonas activating the time machine (or something)Brian Earl Spilner said:
At the end of S1?
Couldn't have been creating it because it has already existed and allowed Mikkel and Jonas to use it several times.
Noah says that Jonas is responsible for creating it but we haven't seen that happen. (This is my understanding, anyway.)
wasn't it formed by young jonas and old jonas (and not sure who else it was) all in the same point at the same time using that device?Brian Earl Spilner said:

Young Jonas was trapped in the cabin when Old Jonas switched on the machine under the cave. (ie right underneath that cabin.)
We didn't explicitly see what happened in the tunnel, but in the cabin itself, a portal opened up in 1953 (young Helge) and 1986. (Jonas)
Helge got sent to 1986, Jonas got sent to the future, and the tunnel wormhole was closed at that point.
But again, we haven't seen its original creation happen yet. The only reference we have is when Noah says that Old Jonas thinks he is closing the portal, when he actually causes its creation.
This part is confusing, because it sounds like he's talking about THAT particular moment, but I think he's actually referencing the 1986 incident that had already happened earlier in that same year. We just haven't seen it yet.
He couldn't have been referencing the scene we saw because he didn't create it right then.

And this actually coincides with my previous post about how the 1986 incident will likely be the fulcrum point on which the entire loop/cycle rests on. Whatever this event was (which has yet to be seen) must be prevented in order to break the cycle.Quote:
I've referenced this episode a few times before in my own theories because when Magnus walks into Franz classroom the teacher is talking about a particular Goethe novel speaking of symmetry saying that the repetition is mirrored along a central axis so the repetition begins at an imaginary starting centre point and branches off in two opposing directions, those two directions being 1953 and 2019 if we're to go by the idea of 1986 being the imaginary starting centre point upon mads disappearance, which to me means it mightn't be this never ending loop but instead the events of 1986 that lead us to where we are now!
I always wondered how he knew to be exactly where Regina was being beaten up by Katharina while Ulrich looked on. He became her knight in shining armor and then shows up at the nuclear power plant with no skills but somehow knows Claudia will need someone to do dirty work and keep it a secret.Brian Earl Spilner said:
Seeing some theories on reddit that Alexander Kohler is from the alternate world. (Remember he just shows up in the forest in 1986.)
Thoughts on that? His old name was "Boris Niewald", and there was some speculation that he was both a Nielsen and a Kahnwald (possibly the son of Jonas + Martha), however, it also seems that there's no Jonas in the other world. So maybe that theory is shot.
