Great action movie/sequences.

There is no coherent plot so it is very similar to 6 underground in that regard. Some of the most realistic hand-to-hand combat scenes since John Wick.

Wow, this was John Wick + Transporter + Jack Ryan all rolled into one.

I'm ok with the shallow plot: the movie was somehow 1hr 48 and they left it thin. I think the only thing they could have done was spent another 5-8 minutes explaining why the other dude in Bengali was making moves, maybe some of the warlord parent story with his son.

If the guy in charge of protecting the kid who hired Thor was such a badass, why didn't he just do the job himself?

Thor needed a team of 5 or 6 to do the initial extraction. The kid's dad never had the money to pay Thor and his team, so dude always planned to "steal the kid back" from Thor and whoever on his team survived in order to save his OWN family from the drug lord.

I just feel like that's such an ill conceived plan. You know that team of highly trained and armed operatives we needed to get my kid? Let's doublecross them.

Didn't affect my enjoyment of the film, just seemed like there could have been more motivation behind it.

6underground was a whole new level when it comes to incoherent plot

the right hand man came up with the idea.

the drug lord in jail didn't have the money to pay chris hemsworth and his team, so the right hand man had to come up with a way to get them to do the tricky part because the drug lord threatened to kill his son if the drug lord's son wasn't rescued.

Right, I get it, it still sounds like a terrible idea

The entire movie is one ill conceived plan after the next. Completely ridiculous. There are literally so many regular cops and innocent people on the streets, splattered all over the place to save this one spoiled Indian rich kid, that I really couldn't dedicate much brain power to assessing the plan to begin with. Still fun.

You would think Thor would have at least asked for a good faith deposit before running off to the middle of Bangladesh and killing half of their police force.

I mean, what's to stop the kidnapper drug lord from just doing the whole thing over again, now that ponytail is dead.

Maybe that's the plot of the second movie? The damn kid gets kidnapped again! Maybe we see a Liam Neeson team up?

He did get a deposit. They paid half the money up front and then the other half was due when he got possession of the kid.

Missed that. So where did the kidnapped kids family get that money? Didn't they say all of the drug lords assets were frozen?

I've tried twice to finish it. Horribly formulaic and unoriginal.

The guy that was supposed to protect the kid and get him back used his own money but didn't have enough to pay the entire fee. So his plan was to have Thor rescue the kid and then the bodyguard would kill Thor's team and get the kid back without having to pay the rest of the extraction fee.

And that's where it lost me. Ponytail was a pretty big BA, so why bother paying Thor in the first place? He could obviously sneak into Dhaka with no problem and murder all the cops.

They should have just made Thor the bodyguard and cut out the ill-conceived double-cross.

Also, why not use that helicopter a lot earlier? They could have been in and out, no problem. Thor could have just jumped on board the helo with the kid. They could have made a Quibi out of it.

Anyways, what I am really trying to say is that 6Underground made much more sense.

Pretty cool that Michael Bay posts on TexAgs. Because that's the only logical explanation I have for this comment.

The director apparently filmed a good portion of the car chase scene strapped to the hood of a chase car.

Just watched it thanks to this thread.

Agree on all points.

Shallow, straightforward, action movie trope galore plot. It was ok. Just like it was ok the first 100 times you've seen it.

Still a badass movie. That one take scene from foot chase to car chase back to foot chase but in buildings was awesome. Legit awesome.

I've seen female Merc in other stuff that I didn't blink twice at but damn, she looked pretty good in this one.

Would recommend for what it is. A good guy vs. bad guy action shoot em up. Does this extremely well. Just dont expect more and you will be very happy.

It has been made a 100 times, but White Man on Fire (this time with Indians!) was still fun.

Hard to tell you're being sarcastic when you openly admit to missing basic plot points that everyone else picked up on.
