With theaters in Texas opening at 25% capacity next week, are you going to head to the movies?

With nothing new coming out, do you think theaters will run classic movies to draw people back in? Or just play the last round of releases?

I would go but sounds like most are not re-opening May 1 and there is nothing to see

Maybe instead of playing movies at 25% capacity across all screens, they'll just close 3/4 of their screens and show to full theaters.

I would definitely go if Star Cinema Grille opened back up. Be great to get out and just be doing something, plus it's a great opportunity to tip someone big time - all those peope hve been out of work for a month, I've been lucky to have more work than normal.

I'd really like to but there just is not anything that I would give a rip to bother seeing. I'll just wait until something comes out that is worth a theater trip, perhaps Tenet in July.

Not in the immediate future.

Alamo stated they will not open until they update their process and sanitizing procedures and are ready.

I will probably wait until they open and go there first.

I 100% would. Time to get on with life. But they won't be showing anything.

For me, I live 4 miles from a drive-in theater that should have been open this whole time anyway. The rumor is they're going to be held to the 25% as well (by the letter of the law). Goes to show how ridiculous this all is...

I'll 100% be there when they open up if they're showing classics because we always enjoyed the drive in anyway.

I think most are not going to open if there's no profit to be made. Also, what are they going to show? Everything's been pushed back.

Interestingly I think a lot a theaters should be able to deal with social distancing pretty well. The new 1st class dine in seating is pretty spaced out already and online reservations should make it straightforward to keep groups apart.

Older theaters are probably ****ed though

As mentioned, they've all said they're not.

When they do open, which I expect will be early/mid June, I'm there assuming proper precautions.

Honestly, I just really want some buttered movie popcorn. If they set up a curbside pickup for popcorn, I would be into that.

No new movies till July. Guess I'll sit out till Tennant hits.

No information on what their content may look like, but a pretty thorough plan laid out:

Interesting, not familiar with them but the Kyle location isn't too far from me. Might be worth a day trip in mid May to escape the stir craziness.

Yep. You can tell that they actually put a lot of thought into it and have clear policies and procedures listed out for each phase already.

Every location I've been too has been a pretty well-run and enjoyable experience. Fully recommend them. Honestly, night and day compared to my local Alamo drafthouse, which has gone down hill.

Wow. I've never been to an EVO theater, but that's an incredibly detailed and reassuring plan.

They're a smaller operation run by Cinemark's founder's grandson. Their main facilities have bowling/lounge/theaters.
