Sam Lloyd, who played sad-sack lawyer Ted on Scrubs, sadly passed away from cancer today at only 56. One of the all-time greatest side-characters in sitcom history. Every scene he was in immediately got funnier.

If you haven't been listening to Fake Doctors, Real Friends and you like Scrubs, you're really missing out.
Donald Faison and Zach Braff have put out 7 episodes so far, most with a guest from the show (Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley). I'm sure next week they'll wax poetic on Ted.

They're putting out two at a time, so it's 8 episodes. Episode 8 has Judy Reyes (Carla) on it.

This rocketed to the top of my podcast list. If you've been listening to Office Ladies, this is NOTHING like that. Office ladies is like listening to two relatively proper white women recall their time filming the episode. Fake Doctors/Real Friends is like listening to two best friends rip into each other for fun while talking about their show.

For example, in the first episode, Donald Faison is in the middle of a story when Zach stops him mid-sentence with, "hold up, wait wait wait. We've got to talk about your teeth." This podcast is fantastic.

I'm not suffering from anything corona-wise or income-wise thank god, but that podcast is my #1 beacon of light the last 6 weeks or so. I took one of our dogs on a walk last night that ended up being 3x as long as I intended because I was laughing out loud at the podcast.

Faison talks about how he learned about Neil Diamond because there was an infomercial on between episodes of The Transformers and Voltron after school but he only knew like 15-seconds snippets of each one. He sings them on the podcast, then sings the Transformers cartoon theme song as Neil Diamond. They are so great together.

Wow. As luck would have it, More than a Feeling was playing on my bluetooth when I read this. Maybe my favorite Scrubs episode is the air band episode. So good. RIP Sam. Way too young.

Very sad, he was very funny.

Truth.

Ted was one of the best secondary characters in TV history. He may have the most laughs per word spoken ever. Hate to hear that he passed away. He was absolutely perfect for that role. He and Bob Kelso were made for their roles. Its hard to not smile when you think about what he brought each episode.
