Being a good G-d fearing man, I am glad they took this movie off the service.

This movie was one of the first dominos to fall with regards to our culture falling away from G-d and into depravity.

The moral good built up in the scene when Rhet puts his strong willed wife in her place is immediately squandered in the next scene.

Scarlett is clearly shown to have enjoyed her wifely duties. In that scene she went from a strong G-dly woman who would do what ever she could to protect the culture of her heritage and her state's right to own private property like Ester to nothing more than a Jezebel

History is written by the victors, and art by the victors is showcased as part of the culture. When the victors age out and someone else comes to power, history is edited and rewritten, and art is destroyed or deleted.

We're seeing this happen this week.

I'm not sure that Gone with the Wind is an example of history being written by the victors or is it art of the victors. People much smarter than me often cite the Civil War as an example of where the victors did not write the history.

I was thinking about all the statues coming down in the South. Gone With the Wind seems to be in the same category. Art representing the Old South being torn down. The South were never the winners in this case, so maybe it was lucky to have had the statues, flag, and other images as long as it did.

Huck Finn has been banned plenty of times by schools due to Hard R Jim.

I'm troubled by the notion that modern audiences need an introduction to explain that times were different during the Civil War. Anyone who needs context before watching a 3+ hour period piece probably needed Lucas to put "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away" in front of every Star Wars movie so they didn't get scared.

I'm sure it was the same academics that thought it was reprehensible that books had been burned in years past.
