He was also on every great TV show in the 1980s. And as you would expect by his appearance, he was born in St. Louis, Missouri.

Also James Hong, who played Lo Pan and was in eleventy million movies and TV shows (Seinfeld... 4!) was from Minneapolis. By the way he's still alive and kicking at 91 years young.

I started to post this the other day and got sidetracked, but...

Totally shared a plane with him on an LA flight about two years ago, he was seated several rows ahead of me and as we're getting off I was looking and like "that has to be him". Was going to ask for a pic after we deplaned but didn't see him on the concourse, and a bit later tweeted that I was positive I saw him in the airport.

His niece (I think) replied a bit later that that was him Random note, he's way taller than I expected.

Would've been tempting to yell Cartwright and see if he turned around.

I just looked through all his credits on IMDB. What a career he had! He never was a leading role guy but he played the villain many times and has just such a broad array of stuff he's been in since the 1950's.

Also it never dawned on me he was the Japanese General in Airplane!

Now I'm down the rabbit hole. Here he is as "Billy Joe Fong" on the Dukes of Hazzard.

Your winner, with 100% of the vote, Mr. Jack Burton.

Egg Shen defeats Wang Chi 55%-45% in the consolation final.

The quote winner, with 70% of the vote

#1 When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

I had a much longer response with all sorts of gifs laid out, then I accidentally hit cancel at 2 a.m. and did not have the work ethic to do it over

definitely feel like watching the movie now!

I deleted it and forgot I had put that question in there.

So in a way, you are all winners.

If you want to throw out a few gif girls, I'll toss them up.

As a bonus, I finished ghostwriting a book about a samurai a few days ago and was able to sneak in Lopan as the name of a city.

My answer to the question was something like:

Because no other movie has a six demon bag going for it.

The one I liked the best that I remember was "Because the sequel hasn't been made yet."
