oh and during my college days I would keep the tv on MTV just about 24/7 if only to catch a glimpse of Duff or Daisy.
Well, duh. Of course it's for attention. I actually don't see any outrage here, it's more WTF.Gigem314 said:Or attention.CDub06 said:
I'm not a fan of cancel culture. I honestly think this guy just made this video for entertainment.
I remember the movie as a kid but don't recall the scene. I certainly don't recall anything me or my parents found 'disturbing' about the movie...and I came from a household that was stricter than most on movies.
The date sequence is definitely something you wouldn't see today. But as someone from the generation that grew up watching Squints kiss Wendy Peffercorn...I don't quite see the outrage. Especially when you consider some of the things put in kids movies today, including Disney.
It's also a much larger age gap.CDub06 said:Well, duh. Of course it's for attention. I actually don't see any outrage here, it's more WTF.Gigem314 said:Or attention.CDub06 said:

And come on! This is NOT comparable to Sandlot. Bro it's the head turn. She turns her head when she goes in for the kiss. Homegirl is a CREEPER.
Yeah that'd be pitchforks for sure.schmendeler said:
i bet that the relative sex of the two parties plays an influence in how you view it.
a 30's ish dude kissing a 10 year old girl would play much worse than the reverse we see in the movie. but why?
Speaking of which... back to Sandlot.Decay said:Yeah that'd be pitchforks for sure.schmendeler said:

Pretty sketchy as-is too. As a kid we were upset he didn't try to slip her some tongue so I guess we're not ones to talk.
Quote:
"Before we shot the scene, I took him to the side and gave him one of the finest bits of direction I believe that I have ever uttered," Evans says of working with Leopardi. "I said, 'You listen to me.' He's looking up at me: 'What?' I said, 'You keep your tongue in your mouth. You understand that?' He said, 'Okay. Okay. I will. I will.' We got the kiss shot on the first take and we were about to move on when Chauncey goes, 'Dave, I think I can do that better. Can we do that again?' I look at Marley and she laughs and goes, 'Yeah. We can do it one more time.'"
