I prefer the old In Search Of... mystery shows with Leonard Nimoy and cool 70's synth music. I believe most are on YouTube. The Dracula and Bigfoot episodes gave me nightmares from age 7-10.

Really enjoyed episode 3. However, the fact that it's considered an "unsolved mystery" is a little strange.

There is pretty much no question about what happened or who did it, the only "mystery" is if he got away or not. It's not as much of an unsolved mystery as it is a case of somebody who hasn't been caught.

Although the lack of blood in the house was interesting. Any theories on how he managed that? Carried each person into the tub, shot them there, then bleached the whole thing down? I wish they'd gone into more detail on if traces of bleach were found. Not that it matters much, since he obviously did it.

For the Alonzo case, there is some interesting stuff online. Evidently everyone in town knows who committed the crime(Boone brothers and a judges son). He was apparently dragged(some say using a dog collar) and then was kept in the freezer of a restaurant about a mile away down the street that was owned by one of the Boone brothers family. He was then moved to the creek when the search initially ended. They became very upset because he was hitting on their sister and are known racist. That is the reason you heard the show make the quick reference to potential freezer storage.

How is all of this skipped if it's supposedly known by everyone? And who are the Boone brothers? Poor job by the filmmakers.

Also, anyone notice they make a single mention of "Adam" who was supposed to drive Alonzo home and he's never seen or even mentioned again? I found that really odd.

Here's a good reddit thread on this case: https://www.reddit.com/r/UnsolvedMysteries/comments/hm2p45/ive_been_following_the_alonzo_brooks_case_for/

I'm becoming more disappointed as I watch each episode.

They are leaving crucial info out of episodes and/or doing stories with little mystery left.

Tonight I watched the Sandy Klemp one and whats the mystery? The daughters body was burned and Sandy was obviously the killer. No reason this case shoulda been profiled as an "Unsolved Mystery "

The UFO episode was flipping sweet, what the F!!

The corroboration between different people who didn't know each other was unique.

Pretty disappointing overall. Nothing special, most stories are cut and dry there was just no one charged with a crime.

I actually enjoyed the French one the most, as that had the most mystery to it until it absolutely didn't, like all the rest.

The UFO ones were always the best to me as a child, but this one was a snoozer. You can tell when people have told a story for so long that they really start to believe it.

AGREED. Overall very disappointed in the reboot.

Episode 6 --

Good episode, interesting story, but once again, WHY is this an episode of "Unsolved Mysteries"?

I'm in. Have only watched the first episode (former soldier with political connections murdered). Did not find that one to be too special. Felt like he had a bipolar moment, went off the deep end, and maybe annoyed the wrong guy out on the street. Didn't feel like they established any breadcrumbs which would present a true working theory.

I just finished episode 3 on Lester Eubanks. I listened to a podcast about his story last year and thought it was interesting. Unsolved Mysteries left out a few details as well.

Reminded me of episode 1 from the first season. Clearly related to mental issues. Seems more like he was experiencing dementia, however. His blank faced, stumbling around with no direction is an all too common sight for me in the ER. Goes along with him frequently losing his car. And while annoying someone enough into beating him to death is certainly a possibility, I find it just as possible that he simply died by being crushed to death by the garbage truck after sleeping in a dumpster after getting lost and confused.

Unfortunately this episode was incredibly light on detail, and was very poorly done, especially with not bringing in any investigators nor medical examiners to review the case. I don't care what the step-daughter who barely knew him thinks happened to him. After watching that first episode I just can't bring myself to watch the others. There are so many better true crime shows available to watch now.

I have not watched this seasons yet, but the first season was infamous for leaving out big details. I was a huge fan of the original, but the early buzz on S2 is that its more of the same of S1 and that was a massive disappointment.

The need to #1 cover true mysteries that are buzzed about (not stories there are plausible widely accepted resolutions to), and people care about. #2 they need to not leave out more detail in each case #they need to go back to the 2-4 short stories per episode format

Season 2, Ep 1 and 2 both could have been 10-15 mins shorter.

Ep 1 sounded like a bi-polar person who was in the wrong place/wrong time. Sad, but it happens.

Ep 2 just dragged, when the story teller just repeats the same line "this is interesting", it's probably not that interesting. And for an expensive hotel, where is any video footage? This would have answered many questions right off.

Both somewhat interesting stories, but the simplest answer is usually correct.
