LOVE this movie. I saw they put out a physical disc I would have loved but it's sold out.

I might have to get this and show the kids.

This movie hit at the the perfect time for me - probably watched it 20+ times that summer. All of my friends and I were into freestyling and BMX at that time. I remember I had a white and lavender Skyway Street Beat bike.

Aaaaaand I just finished watching it on Prime. Not in 4K, but I guess upscaled to HD.

So...it's still fun, VERY 80s and kinda cheesy in spots, but enjoyable and has some entertaining moments.

Watching with my 12 yr old. Just as gnarly as I remember!

This came out in my 8th grade year and I was into bmx racing and tricks. It blew my mind. Rad was my word that summer. I never tried the flip.

Find it funny that the guy doing the tricks for Aunt Becky was like "I'll wear the white pants, but not those nut huggers she's wearing."

so many great memories watching this movie. I'll have to rent this and enjoy with the kids.
Also, The Dirt Bike kid is free on Prime now and Airborn is a damn fine film, early Jack Black and Seth Green owning it!

Found my first deck - an 86 or 87 Tony Hawk - and hung it on a wall a few weeks ago. Looks like this one. I've carried it from house to house for years and it always ended up in a corner of the garage or whatnot. Glad I never got rid of it.

Rented Rad last night. it was awesome. My wife was not as impressed.

Hell yeah man. That is perhaps the most iconic board of the 80's. That's worth some money right there. There are 2 of them on ebay right now that are in much worse condition than yours listed for over $1000. Yours is in great condition. I bought the reissue boards for my Lance Mountain and Claus Grabke that came out a couple of years ago and have those hanging on the wall of my home office. But those aren't worth much since they are just an old school replica. Your Tony Hawk is the real deal though. Don't ever get rid of it. I wish I would've had the foresight to store my bike and boards from back then in my parent's attic. When I turned 16 and got a car I just pretty much gave that stuff away. Thanks for posting. I love this stuff.

I had been saving for a Dyno (due to Rad) butchanged at the last minute.

That one isn't mine but mine is in similar condition. The bottom is similar but the top the layers split some around the edges due to my adolescent anger issues when I couldn't learn a trick

I got one in 5th grade that looks like the image below. I was too small/weak/chicken s*** to be able to do anything freestyle related on it. My parents got rid of it about 15 years ago. I'd ride the F of it around my neighborhood today if I had it back!

My dad forced the bike store to put a chain guard on it because he was convinced I'd get my laces caught and tear my leg off. They reluctantly installed a black chain guard. It looked hideous.
