That reminded me of the 80's Bones Brigade movie 'The Search for Animal Chin'. We used to watch it a lot too. I wonder if it's available somewhere.

You can watch it on Powell Peralta's website. A friend of mine got it on DVD a few years ago as a gift from his wife.

After hanging the deck I went down an internet rabbit hole and found PP's site. Ended up ordering a Rat Bones t-shirt

It's also on youtube. I watched it last year. My friends and I watched the hell out of that on VHS in 1987.

Finally had time to watch this tonight with my 7 and 9 year old boys. So many memories!!!

One thing I don't think I noticed as a kid is how Cru is a cheater. On the first and third rounds of qualifying he cuts the course. Most notably the home stretch of the third he jumps the ropes onto pavement and blows past people riding on dirt. Nevertheless I chalk it up to grit and determination and will overlook it.

Remastered version is on showtime now.
