You can FF things you've recorded on YTTV. What probably happened to you was they gave you an on demand version of whatever show you tested out. When it does that you can't FF through ads.

My only problem with them involves skipping ads when watching (or casting) from my phone. For some reason, they only have a 15 second skip button and it is SERIOUSLY l a g g y. Some shows I watch have 4 minute commercial breaks, and it is one of the most annoying things ever to skip the ads on my phone.

Other than this (which is huge for me), I love YoutubeTV.

Most of the streaming services have significantly increased their prices the last year or two. Those people raving about YouTube tv were probably doing so when the cost was 30%+ lower. Also streaming doesn't require equipment rental, paying 'extra' for HD or paying extra to use on multiple TVs which can add up depending on your particular setup
And if you share your account with a family member or friend, you can split the cost of the subscription. So then it becomes a no-brainer to cut the cord.

That was no small factor for me actually - I didn't "split" the cost with anyone but....

with my kids both in college they were able to use the families streaming services and I didn't have to pay for cable in 3 different places.

Criticize me all you want but they allow it.
