I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Weird Al could put on a Superbowl Halftime performance that would end terrorism.

You need to sit him down for some "Top Secret" the movie for some Skeet surfing!

I'm not a super fan or anything but the guy is a genius. I don't think I own any of his albums but I've never not been impressed with a song of his I hear. And the fact that he's made a 30+ year career out of it. I'm serious that he needs a Kennedy Center Honor as a national treasure for the arts.

Just yesterday I found myself singing Radiohead's Creep but with some different lyrics. No idea what it was from. Did he have a version of that?

No love for Addicted to Spuds??? It's older but I find myself humming it if I'm opening a bag of chips.

Your greasy hands, your salty lips
Looks like you found the chips
Your belly aches, your teeth grind
Some tator tots would blow your mind
And you don't mind if they're not cooked
You need your fix, I guess you're hooked
And late at night you always dream
Of bacon bits and sour cream
Whoah, you like them even if they're lumpy or tough, oh yeah
Whee, It's pretty obvoius to me you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it
You're addicted to spuds
Might as well face it, you're addicted to spuds
Might as well face it, you're addicted to spuds
Might as well face it, you're addicted to spuds
Might as well face it, you're addicted to spuds
Might as well face it, you're addicted to spuds
Ooh yeah
I'm givin' up, it'sjust no use
Another case of spud abuse
What can I say, what can I do
Potato bug has got me too, Wahoo
I used to hate them, now they're all that I eat, oh yeah
Whee, I've often seen then whipped, but they just can't be beat
Now I'm gonna have to face it
I'm addicted to spuds

Other personal favorites:
Living With a Hernia
Lost on Jeopardy
Eat It
Ricky
Like a Surgeon
Dare to be Stupid
Lasagna
Gump
Amish Paradise

My family went on many road trips when I was young (late 80s/early 90s) and we listened to many tapes of Weird Al, along with lots of Elvis, the Beatles, Garth Brooks, and lots of Motown. Also occasionally the gem that was The Simpsons Sing the Blues. Good times.

Lifelong Fan - Started with the "Weird Al" self-titled album (more likely cassette) of the early 80s.
Dare to be Stupid, Even Worse, and Alapalooza have a lot of classics.

Word Crimes has to be one of the best written songs ever.

One More Minute
Amish Paradise
Gump

I know Benny's dad is a fan of Top Secret, I'm fairly certain he has already has seen it. If not, Tanya you need to kick hubs in the ass.

I can't believe no one's mentioned "Genius In France" yet.

It's also a fun one to karaoke, if you can get over the guilt of doing such a long song while others are waiting to sing.

I grew up loving Weird Al and was fortunate enough to see him live at Casa Manana in Fort Worth back in the late 80s. Awesome show with a ton of costume changes and funny video segments.

My ringtone for when my son calls is "White and Nerdy" LOL
Funny. I saw him at Casa Manana right after his Off the Deep End release. Good times.

This is still my favorite. I was in choir in high school and tried to get my teacher to let 4 of us do it at one of the shows. Worse decision she ever made.

All of them. Duh.

Story time: Summer after ninth grade, must have been 1992 , two friends and I saw him at the Arena Theater (dumpy little theater in the round in Sharpstown) in Houston. We were pretty close to the stage, as it turns out. After "Smells like Nirvana," he smashed his guitar and pieces went flying. A roadie picked some pieces up and ran over to us and gave them to us. We thought that was the highlight of the night. After the show, we were standing outside waiting for our ride, and noticed his tour bus right there. We went up to the security guard standing by the back door, showed her the guitar pieces, and asked her if she knew when he would come out so we could try to get them autographed. She told us to wait a minute, went inside, came back outside, and said, "Okay, he's right in there. Just walk through the curtain." So she let us in, we walked through the curtain, and sure enough, Weird Al walked right in, on his way out. We showed him the guitar pieces, he happily signed them, shook our hands and said "Nice to meet you." It wasn't until we were all outside, giddy as, well, a bunch of Weird Al nerds who just met Weird Al, that we realized we should have done the "we're not worthy" bit from Wayne's World. Anyway, I still have that autographed guitar piece, on a shelf of honor in my fun room. My wife hates it. (One of those same friends and I saw Weird Al at the Wortham Center in Houston a few years ago. We got there late, as he was doing his first song outside the entrance to the theater, and he walked right past us on his way in. Also pretty cool.)

Hate might be too strong of a word. She doesn't understand why I like it so much. She did go see Weird Al with me at that show a couple years ago, and thought it was great, so maybe she doesn't hate the guitar as much anymore. I don't know.

My wife's seen him with me a couple of times, including the VIP add-on a few years ago. She likes him, but mostly she likes seeing me geek out about stuff.

Benny absolutely loved the video of "The Saga Begins"

But he is also a Star Wars nerd.

He did not love "My Girlfriend is in Love with Eddie Vedder" as much as me.

However "Eat It" is probably the greatest thing ever.

Weird Al is in my head now from this thread. Yesterday my neighbor was complaining about his internet not being fast enough even though he said he gets 400 mbps (not sure why he needs more speed than that since mine is no where near it) but I instantly thought of "First World Problems" which is one of my favorite originals from his last album.

Part of the lyrics include "My house is so big I can't get WIFI in the kitchen!" LOL

Editing to add a picture of the signed guitar piece.
