Aziz Ansari is so great in this. He seems like such a likable guy. I find myself laughing through these episodes. He really is a witty writer. Good stuff.

All I remember was that his father was really funny in his few scenes. And the Italian girl was super cute.

The lead character was a POC and the main white guy was on the spectrum. The first episode was focused on this POC bedding a white girl, then celebrating aborting her baby with a bottle of Jewish apple juice.

If I remember right, the show wasn't cancelled. I think Aziz said that he would only do additional seasons if he came up with worthy, compelling ideas. As of the end of the second season, he thought that would be unlikely.
Exactly. Season three not yet happening had nothing to do with either the show or Aziz being "cancelled." They just didn't see themselves being able to come up with a worthy follow up for years or maybe ever. That said, that was before the allegations against Aziz (which were flimsy to begin with), before Covid, and before streaming truly took off like it has. In other words, a lot has happened since then and I'm betting/hoping they have more story to tell sooner rather than later.
I recently rewatched season two and it was just incredible. Even better the second time around. Especially the first two Italy episodes, and any of the New York episodes with Francesca. Really hoping there's more to come.

The ending of episode 5, him just silently riding in the back of an Uber, checking his phone and just showing so much regret and distress with body language, has been burned into my memory since I first watched it. Incredible job by them to stretch that out and make it feel realistic and relatable.
Two quick Aziz stories to lighten the mood...
The first being the time Aziz showed up to my friend's birthday party at the Roosevelt Hotel, we bowled, I jokingly tweeted at Aziz about it, and he responded in real time...
The second, weirdly enough, being the time he dated a girl - circa 2015 - I grew up with, who lived down the street from me when we were kids. He ended up visiting her family at their house in my home town (Wichita Falls), still just down the street from my parents at the time, which is so hilarious to me, as WF is podunk as hell. We heard that he was kind of a d*ck, though, and was basically looking at his phone the entire time, and then they broke up shortly after. That said, Aziz has since admitted that he used to be way too addicted to his phone, and *was* a dick at times, so it sounds like he's matured all around since then.

Same exact thoughts. That moment has always stuck with me as well.
One of the hardest times I've ever laughed was during the season one episode when Aziz confronts the man whose wife he's been sleeping with.
"You cut in line in front of me at the ice cream store!"
"So you f***ed my wife?!"

When the husband takes one bite of the last sundae and yells "this is disgusting!" and throws it lazily at the trash. Aziz' reaction is hysterical.

Yeah, I was at Crockett in the mid-80s to early-90s.
The show, while definitely very funny, was just so surprisingly good overall.

Nope. I'm a terrible barometer of pop culture though. You would be shocked at what I haven't seen which is pretty much everything in the last decade.

One of my favorite episodes of television of the decade from 2010-1019 was the "Amarsi Un Po" episode in S2. If you've ever run into a situation like what happened in that episode, ugh. Lose/lose. Throw in the fact that Aziz is also a millennial? - a lot of the cues hit that much harder because of being in that age group, oof.

I don't think that actor is good enough to carry a season, she was decent for random appearances though.
