Wouldn't it be more accurate to call it a spinoff

It's out on Netflix. Got through a few episodes. Was a complete departure from the first two seasons. I'm not sure I'll finish it. Won't drop any spoilers, but definitely interested to hear opinions of fans of the earlier seasons.

I don't think that actor is good enough to carry a season, she was decent for random appearances though.
Yeah, she is a terrible actress, like directly reading from cue cards terrible. Although, I have not attempted to watch it yet. I'll probably wait for the reviews.

I gave up after about 4 minutes into the 1st episode.

I didnt really like the first two seasons, but eh, I like Aziz.

It's like Lena Dunham cornered Aziz after his "sexual assault" allegations and said sacrifice your series to the woke mob or sacrifice your career to the woke mob, and Aziz picked the path of least resistance. So I google a review to see if I'm being unfair. Apparently, Ansari isn't even in this entire season, save for a brief cameo.

In regards to the sexual assault 'complaint": In January 2018, a woman using the pseudonym "Grace" accused Ansari of sexual misconduct in an article on Babe.net, a website that was aimed at Millennial and Gen-Z readers. According to the article, the woman later texted Ansari expressing her discomfort, and he replied to her with an apology.

That's right. The reputable people at Babe.net. Accused him of trying to have sex with a woman he was on a date with. And she said she was uncomfortable, and he apologised.

Oh, the horror. Sorry Aziz. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Aziz didn't get cancelled for that, and most people agree that he didn't really do anything wrong.

It wasn't bad but yeah it was the worst season, especially coming off season 2 which is one of the best seasons of TV in the last decade.

Seconding double aught, Aziz didn't get "cancelled" from anything for that. After he released the second season, he said he was taking a break until he was sufficiently "inspired" to do another season. The long break in between seasons had nothing to do with any allegations. That being said, I got 15 minutes into the first episode of this season before I gave up out of boredom, maybe I'll watch it eventually.

Also, you may bemoan Aziz for apologizing to that woman, because he didn't really do anything wrong. I agree that he is guilty of no crime, nor any major moral failing. However, if I were constantly going on dates that left the women upset and feeling used, I'd probably want to change my strategy a bit too. I think Aziz was mature enough to realize he acted like an ass, and was more than willing apologize for that.

He definitely had a lot of hit pieces written about him in relation to how he interacted with women, which most of us seem to agree on if they were bad or not. It was right after Louis C.K. and a few other people did some sketchy things, and he was the next male person in Hollywood to have their name pop up.

He says he was writing the show based on his life, and he had basically caught up to where he was at. I don't think Ill ever watch season 3, but Id watch season 4 if he writes more material for his character

I loved the first 2 seasons. I was skeptical when I saw the preview for this season, but I went ahead and gave the first episode a shot. It felt like I was watching an art film. I had a few chuckles but it definitely wasnt anything close to a comedy. Part of what was great about the first 2 season was that it was realistic and dramatic while also being humorous. The first episode just left me feeling sad for the characters. Its all well done, but I just don't have a desire to continue watching.

My critique was not of Aziz. I dont think he did anything wrong either. My critique of what garbage the first 10 minutes of this season were compared to the few i watched last season. It's like someone had pictures of him hanging out on Epstein's island or something and said he had to make this season.
