So what backwoods cave do they go to in order to find folks unfamiliar with Borat? Or will it all just be faked?
Ever visited Forum 16? Seems a healthy chunk of the posters there don't pay too much attention to pop culture and could be ripe targets.
Just a few threads down there is a long discussion aseering "Miley Cyrus is insanely talented". You have no room to throw stones at other forums. If it weren't for the GB, this would be the Texags short-bus.

Started by a prominent f16er who just discovered Miley.

It was...fine. I was impressed with the COVID pivot and how well that was integrated. There were some funny moments and a lot of cringe of course. But overall, a lot of the jabs felt kind of forced and tired. The editing of the big Giuliani scene was awkward.

It has it's brief moments of hilarity; but could have been at least 30 mins shorter.

It think it would have been better had he made fun of/pointed out the hypocrisy of the left as much as he does the right; but get past all the political and religious BS and just laugh at the absurdity.

So... "overly sensitive."

Got it.
Must be nice to still be able to use the "you're being too sensitive" line when you want to justify expressing your bias against a block of millions of your fellow citizens. The left used to discourage such behavior.

It's a comedy, not a piece of journalism.

I get that. But given how often the left enjoys openly mocking conservative and rural whites, I really can't understand why they seem shocked when conservative and rural whites don't like them right back. "This movie openly mocks you; how dare you not like it!"

It's just odd.

Haven't caught up on the thread but I thought this was hilarious and an impressive feat considering Borat's infamy from the first film. I needed this brief moment of levity from the constant barrage of political noise.

I could happily live the rest of my life without anyone telling me what the left or the right likes to do.

What about the urban whites? Or the suburban whites? Or the desert whites? Or the space station whites?!

What a ridiculous article and GoFundMe. I kept reading it waiting for the tie-in between her movie appearance and her unemployment. Nope, none. Stupid.

She came off as a genuine good person. I could only dream that I would come off half as well as she did if someone followed me around with a camera.

Maybe I don't watch enough documentaries, but how does this even make sense? You don't get cast in a documentary and then asked to teach someone something. You are cast and then asked about your role in the event that is being documented in the documentary.

Aside from all that, this knowledge makes all her scenes way less funny to me. She knew going in that the girl had some crazy beliefs she was being asked to dispel. It was more funny when I thought she had no clue what was coming.

She's not the sharpest. Without a doubt Borat exploits people of inferior intellect for a laugh at their expense. It's the basic premise of the show, he purports himself to be a strange foreigner to ridicule American imbeciles who are without a clue.

That's how comedy works. I think we found the disconnect.

I also didn't think this movie was anywhere near as funny as the first, but that is usually how sequels go. I do think Cohen is hilarious, and there was still some very funny scenes in the movie.

Well, not sure what I was expecting. Cringe humor. The daughter didn't add that much for me. About as humorous as a root canal. If you enjoyed Borat1 - you'll enjoy Borat2
