Dumb Star Wars stuff:

Han Solo claimed that his Millennium Falcon "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs". A parsec is a unit of distance, not time. ....

A parsec is a unit of distance, not time. Solo was not referring directly to his ship's speed when he made this claim. Instead, he was referring to the shorter route he was able to travel by skirting the nearby Maw black hole cluster, thus making the run in under the standard distance. By moving closer to the black holes, Solo managed to cut the distance down to about 11.5 parsecs

When movies from early times in American history use the current flags. For example in the movie Far and Away, a guy is handing out American flags to people arriving in the 1890s with 50 stars. Always bothers me. Just lazy

Yes, this is an annoyance of mine. How hard is it to recall that up until the 1950s, there were but 48 states? And that in that particular movie, there would have been somewhere between 42 and 45 states?

This is one reason that I felt the recent Midway movie was so well done. They did seem to be aware of which aircraft were available to the air fleets by including SBD-3's rather than -5's, and TBF Devastators. They did miss on some details, and they did not portray either the dive bombing tactics or the aircraft carrier defenses correctly, but I'll take what I can get.

That was the ret-con. You damn well lucas didn't have that in mind when he wrote that line.

If herbert, martin or Tolkien had the same haracter that say the same line, I would believe that explanation was his intent from the beginning

Encino Man

Linkovich Chomovsky wheezes the juice and subsequently gets a brain freeze which in turn causes him to spit out the juice onto his shirt. Moments later he exits the Food Mart only to immediately re-enter stating "I'll be back", but magically his shirt in now clean.

This is more of a goof I guess. In From Russia with Love, during the shootout at the gypsy camp, James Bond's buddy is shot. You can clearly see him rubbing fake blood on the sleeve of his suit. Kind of funny.

Rocky 2. Not sure why the referee did a double count. Rocky slipped; Apollo didn't score a knockdown.

Show me where it says that a parsec is a unit of distance in the original script.

40 days and 40 nights. His ex-GF straight up rapes him and no one in the show bats an eye. in fact his current gf gets pissed at him as part of the plot. It's crazy that it escaped the director's notice and even more so that they tried to pass it off as comedy.
