Casablanca was a good mention. There's a lot of underneath to unpack in that movie and knowing the history of it helps. I thought it was decent the first time I saw it but now I think it's brilliant.

Big Lebowski. I think this was my first Coen brothers so I didn't "get" their humor at first. It gets funnier each time.

Space Balls and Ace Ventura. I was a very literal kid and didn't understand slapstick in any way. I came out of both of these movies thinking they were just stupid and cheesy. Within months of watching each of them i rewatched them again with friends that thought they were hilarious and both times watching and listening to the people I was with react to the humor clued me into what funny could be. Now they're still a couple of my favorite comedies of all time.

Definitely Napoleon Dynamite. I saw it in high school and wanted those 90 minutes of my life back immediately. Years later I saw it again on TV and realized its ****ing comedy genius.

For me it was vacation. Saw it in the theater and it was ok. Watching on cable over and over it was hilarious.

Casablanca was a terrible mention. That movie was perfect and a joy to watch the first time.

Dazed and Confused. Really disliked it the first time I saw it, it has grown on me since.

I've heard great things about Idiocracy. I finally got through it, on my third attempt. I think it's terrible. Can't fathom I'll try again, but I keep hearing such great things about it.

Napoleon Dynamite

Watched it the night before classes started and was only there as a wingman for a buddy. I had an 8 am running class the next morning and wanted to leave as soon as possible. Subsequent viewings ended with me loving the movie.
