Kirk saying goodbye to Spock in Wrath of Khan... tops for me.

When Spock died.

When Khan's brain eaters came out those dudes ears.

In the new Star Trek movie, I thought the new Khan's monologue on his hate for star fleet was superb acting. He shed a tear as I recall.

scene:

Riker in Measure of Man - his court scene doing his duty and proving Data was a machine and property was painful to watch and he was racked with guilt.

episode- i'd probably go with BOBW also but these are up there too

Lower Decks
Pegasus
All Good Things - of course and the ending poker scene is perfect
Tapestry
Yesterdays Enterprise

I've been on a ST:TNG rewatch binge lately.

Agree with your opinion on The Best of Both Worlds.

For the best scene, I'd actually go with a scene in The Best of Both Worlds:

I believe I'm one of 3 people on planet Earth who likes Star Trek: The Motion Picture. There are lots of visually great moments in that movie, but this sequence where the audience gets its first glimpse of the newly refit Enterprise has always been my favorite part of that movie:

I always imagined that Best of Both Worlds had the best cliffhanger in television. I can't imagine waiting months to see what happened. I first saw in on a Spike marathon and I could hardly put up with the commercials(pre-DVR).

Not the best scene per se, but definitely one of my favorite episodes.

For my favorite episode, it's hard to narrow down to one. I'm going to pick two from DS9

- The Darkness and the Light
- In the Pale Moonlight

Favorite Scene

- The new-look Klingons vs. V'Ger, opening scene of TMP

And then there's this scene that's the icing on the cake to your reference to Riker and Data in the courtroom

Yeah no doubt - really I mean the combo I guess of both scenes. This was the payoff. Data realizing Riker had to do it and that it hurt Riker to do it.

Data's death in Picard was well done. Not my favorite overall, but well done.

I think my favorite, corny but good, was Kirk disabling Khan's shields in Wrath of Khan...followed by Scotty giving the formula for transparent aluminum to that guy in the 90's.

The first part aired in May (don't quote me on that, just what my aging memory recalls), and then the second part was the following September. But that was a piece of cake given earlier "training" between the summer of '77 and the summer of '80, and then the summer of '80 and the summer of '83, waiting for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi after Star Wars.

Redemption (where Gowron is elevated to leadership of the Klingon High Council and a war breaks out) had a big moment when Denise Crosby appeared with the Romulans, with no explanation. That was a long wait too.

I was too young for the Empire Strikes Back theatrical release, but I can't imagine there being much worse than that with Han left frozen in carbonite, Luke having his entire world turned over by Vader, and knowing there'd be no answers for several years.

I was 10 years old when Empire Strikes Back came out and I can confirm that was the biggest WTF moment of my life to that point (yeah I know, first world problems) when I realized I'd have to wait YEARS before finding out what happened to Han and how in the world Vader could be Luke's father. I still remember the audible GASP from the audience with Vader's reveal.

Bump as I started rewatching Voyager for the first time in many years. In Season 3 and looks like we're finally getting the Borg.

So many great episodes and quotes. Love Janeway though, when reprimanding Tuvok after he went against her orders for the first time:

Such a powerful scene.

There is one co-worker who will say "Computer?" into his mouse sometimes when we are talking about things and need a question answered.

Nobody else in the entire organization would get that reference, but I love it every time.

And if he says it a millennial or zoomer in the room, he just gets blank stares.
