On Showtime. Watched the first episode. I think it has potential.

Bryan Cranston is a judge in New Orleans. Son has an accident. Won't mention anything else, so as not to be a spoiler.

Cranston is the best "liar" in Hollywood. He's just too damn good at it that his lies give up the truth. I'm really liking this show. Takes me back to BB.

Good premise but it's getting a little ridiculous and over the top with all the dumb crap Cranston and the son (mainly the son) keep doing. Ill keep watching but it's looking like it may be like The Night Of and start strong and then fizzle out hard as it goes on. I think it's the same writer or director.

Cranston's character reminds me of a judge version of Walter White - creatively and frantically trying to figure out how to extricate himself from a situation while some moves blow up in his face. The son is definitely annoying as ****. He's basically Skyler. I've really enjoyed it overall

Watched the first episode tonight. A lot of it seemed contrived. Spoiler rant below.
A 17 year old son of a judge doesn't have a cell phone, knows how to get to a place but not out (his cell phone would have helped there right?). Happens to have a gang of thugs chase his car (because that happens all the time), then a car of thugs, then happens to lose his inhaler and doesn't stop for three seconds for it, and then happens to hit another white kid who is also many miles from home and decided to go through the same dangerous neighborhood. Then he happens to pick up the victims phone and carry it for some bizarre reason. Dad, a judge no less, decides to choose literally the most public place possible to throw something in a river with no cars in either direction despite it appearing to be a major road (lucky him!), and for some strange reason the victimd's family finds out at the police station, not at a hospital that their son is dead. And it happens to be the exact moment the judge walks in. And by the way, I hope it was summer because no one seemed to be going to school on what was a weekday because court was in session, where the judge was cross examining witnesses for the defense. And why was he nervous about the girlfriend getting out of his place with the dramatic dog bit if dad was at work?

So yeah, I'm likely out. But enjoy.

Just wait and see all the dumb **** the son does in episodes 2-3 (if you keep watching). It makes the stuff you mention about Cranston look like child's play.

It's easy entertainment, so I'll probably keep watching. But it's beyond ridiculous at this point.

This should be called Breaking Bad: NO Judge. Or maybe Breaking Bad's Mentally Challenged Cousin. Watching Cranston dig himself deeper and constantly scramble is totally deja vu, but there are a lot of ridiculous and annoying flaws

Too invested to opt out at this point. Can't imagine this is anymore than a 1 season show.

Still entertaining

6 episodes in and will probably finish it out, but this fluctuates from being decent, to downright dumb. I have a feeling it is only going to get dumber though.

I'm admittedly a bit confused by the mafia family with the english surname, Irish muscle/righthand guy, and sons with extremely italian first names (especially Rocco LOL).

I will be riding this out but expectations continue to drop. I expect the trial to be pretty ridiculous

Worst judge ever. He falls for every sob story and lets criminals walk nearly every episode.

First episodes are okay but, by the end, devolves into the dumbest limited series I've seen in a long time (maybe ever). Given the talent of the cast involved, I'd say it's the worst ever at over promising and under delivering. If you're 5-6 episodes in now and wonder how they're going to tie up all the loose ends in a 10-story arc, just know that they don't. Felt like the creators wrote themselves into a corner and then used the nuclear option to end the series.

Especially heinous given that Breaking Bad was the benchmark in coming up with clever ways to get WW out of seemingly impossible circumstances.

Circular retribution but I still hated the ending. And he F'ed up by trading that teacher for the goth Baxter girl

Finished last night. Not sure why I watched the whole series but I guess I got invested.

Hugely disappointing series. Surprised someone like Bryan Cranston signed onto this. Started off strong with a captivating storyline and conflict, then fell flat.

spoilers for the whole show below.

SO MANY HOLES. Where to even begin? The son is a total idiot and is probably the least careful criminal in any crime show. He left so much evidence at the crime scene and just was overall reckless with his involvement with the daughter, confessing to the teacher, not telling his dad where he was and ignoring his calls, returning to the scene of the crime to take photos. And then him going out and not telling his dad where, much less his dad not even asking? How stupid are these characters? And how were they never suspects being that they owned the car involved in the crime and then the car suddenly disappears?

There were so many courtroom-related things that would never ever happen, ever. Like a judge presiding over a trial where his own vehicle was used as the murder weapon, a judge meeting one on one with a witness introduced DURING TRIAL with a broken leg and later allowing him to testify, meeting with the defendant's dad and dad's goon in broad daylight multiple times.

Then the way they shoehorned covid into the show just felt awkward and forced. The passage of time was weird too. At first I thought they went from the Kofi Jones murder to trial in the span of like a week. But apparently it was longer and the show from start to finish was supposed to be close to a year? I don't know. It all just felt awkward and weird.

Toward the end I just hated the son so much and found his recklessness to be infuriating so I thought he totally had it coming getting killed at the end. It was actually a bit relieving.

Just sloppy writing all around. The only likable character was the dog. But Cranston is still a great actor.

WTF was the asinine COVID reference in episode 8? All indicators I've seen is the show is set 5 to 10 years ago. The only masked person in the entire show is a single jury member, wearing one daily. In a speech to the jury Cranston says "now because of this virus the public isn't in here, but you must not not read about it when you are home."

That's it. Nothing else. Not one single ****ing character wearing a mask as a point of reference.

Dumbest ****ing "let's sneak COVID in" I can imagine.

Lazy. Idiotic. Writing. Nobody who could have stopped that should have a job in media again. ****ing ridiculous.

If I met the person that called for, wrote, and approved that stupid ****, I'd punch them.this is not a COVID yay/nay rant. It's a rant on the type of bull**** idiots in Hollywood try to push on the public.

****ing stupid.

I don't think it was supposed to be 5-10 years ago. I thought it was weird too but then realized the trial was was months to a year after the beginning of the show and maybe in the February 2020 area before SHTF.

Yeah I realized afterwards there were some vehicles that were too modern to be that old (the range rovers and Mercedes notably).

Still doesn't take away from the ridiculousness of the inclusion.

Genuinely surprised there hasn't been more discussion here since it returned a couple of weeks ago. I agree that the first episode was a bit of an odd start but after ep2 I am definitely all the way back in.
