Agree. Count me in the camp of don't overthink it , sometimes dumb isn't hidden brilliance, it's just dumb.

I think it kinda clicked for me that this whole thing is broken conceptually so you can't really take it all apart. They play with the idea and do tons of cool things but they aren't consistent with their rules and the more you investigate the less makes sense.

Like how do they find a wall with reverse bullets in it? What if protagonist didn't shoot the bullets back into his gun? Was the gun reversed too?

The opera bullet that saved protagonist was reversed. Was it there for years? Part of the wood that made up the floor?

How about the reverse holes shot into the turnstile window at the Airport... How long were they there? The protagonist and Neil find them. Were they there forever? Did they install windows with holes in them? What if you tried to fix it?
