Loved the show in the beginning but it went a little too long but glad I got to see it and it's entirety. Was a little underwhelmed with the finale but it is what it is.

Long live Ragnar.

I think I will start at the beginning again and re-watch.
Asking who the "worst" posters are on TexAgs is like asking which jalapeño at a tailgate is the hottest, it depends entirely on who you ask and how much "maroon-tinted" Kool-Aid you've had that day.

Thanks for posting this. I didn't realize they had a season in December.

It lost something then Ragnar died, and Rollo left the show, but it's got enough for me to finish it out.

And the truth is mostly lore based around a few barebones facts. There's not a lot there to deviate from; so the show is almost entirely fiction.

It's also the same network that ran Project Blue Book or Ancient Aliens.

Haven't watch the final season yet but will eventually. To me, Vikings feels like two different shows. Vikings with Ragnar was gritty, realistic(ish), and a fantastic show. Vikings after his death, and the focus on Ivar as such a main character just got goofier and goofier. Don't know what it is exactly, but it's almost hard to watch.

What parts of Pawn Stars and American Pickers are required to be historically accurate? What other channels do you have these completely wrong preconceptions about?

Does it get better?

Loved this show, but stopped watching when Floki started his quest. It just became unwatchable for me

So to recap, the back half of the last season started January 1.
This season is 10 episodes.
2 of the episodes have already run.

All that being said, I don't know if I can force myself to watch this. I have seen it up to this point, but the past two seasons have been more forcing myself to watch it than actually wanting to watch it. That's not a good sign. So I'm still debating whether I will finish this out. I saw an article the other day which wrapped up the season and told us everything that happens. I guess they let the media preview the whole season before hand, which sounded odd to me.

Has anyone seen the first two episodes from this 2021 season? Is it worth getting back into? I just remember the finale (gee, I cant remember when that was, I guess last year), got us to that weird point where they were on the beach fighting. Having trouble picking this back up.

Another Thumbs Up for The Last Kingdom.

Also liked Barbarians (Romans in Germany) and Britannia.

Problem with Britannia is that it is an Epix show, which I don't have. You can only get the first season on Prime.

It never gets great in my opinion and I don't like the way they glorified Ivar in some ways. I just don't really have anything invested in these characters anymore, but was glad they had completed it. There's one thing near the end it kind of brings part of it full circle but I thought it was pretty obvious that it would happen.

Kind of interesting where they went with Bjorn as well.

I have started re-watching it and really am enjoying the original seasons much more.

The actor who plays Ivar isn't bad, and he tries to make it work, but the writing isn't very good.

The Last Kingdom has a Ragnar, but not the same Ragnar from Vikings. Vikings takes place chronologically before the Last Kingdom where Ragnar is already dead.

So all the other characters from that show that have the same names are not the same either? Not sure I believe that.

I wondered the same when I first started watching. Ragnar Ravnson is Utred's Dane daddy. Ragnar Lothbrook is the dude from Vikings. Again, Last Kingdom takes later, after Lothbrook is long dead.

I had no complaints about any of the actors at all. It was just some of the characters I couldn't connect with as much after the original few seasons.

Although I loathed the Ivar character I saw him as just a spoiled brat who is pissed he couldn't walk and got violent, I mean look who he killed. I thought the actor that portrayed him did a very good job. I also liked the Ubbe character, felt he looked the most casting wise like Ragnar.

All the actors through the entire run were very good, my interest in the storylines just waned though.

I thought Largetha was just fantastic. The actress that portrayed her is absolutely beautiful and I've started to see her in a lot of other things. Apparently she really is trained in martial arts and such so did a lot of her fighting scenes.
