I hope Katheryn Winnick gets to direct more, too.

She's on that show big sky right now. I've started to see her showing up in a lot of different things. I know she enjoyed being on Vikings but I think she's also glad now to be able to do some other things.
Asking who the "worst" posters are on TexAgs is like asking which jalapeño at a tailgate is the hottest, it depends entirely on who you ask and how much "maroon-tinted" Kool-Aid you've had that day.

I wondered the same when I first started watching. Ragnar Ravnson is Utred's Dane daddy. Ragnar Lothbrook is the dude from Vikings. Again, Last Kingdom takes later, after Lothbrook is long dead.
Yep. Alfred the Great was the grandson of King Ecgbert who was Ragnar's "friend" in Vikings. Ragnar's sons are in TLK.

Only Ubba, really. They mention Ivar dying in Ireland, but I don't recall ever seeing Ivar, Bjorn or Halfdan

Started Vikings when it originally came out and loved watching it and couldnt wait to watch it each week. Stopped watching around the time Floki went off on a quest, just meh.

I think up until Ragnar's death History channel did a very good job of trying to incorporate as much "true" history into what is essentially folklore in viking culture.

to this day there are disputes if Ragnar even existed IRL. Bourne(Sp?) and Ivar were proven to have existed but nothing is known of a father

Rolo is the most accurate as he did become a lord in France.

all in all, great show before Ragnar's death.

It still pisses me off about Floki and Athelstan.

That's when I started disliking Floki.

It just hasn't been the same since Ragnar died but again all the actors were good and the production was still well done, but the characters just started to lose me.

I stopped watching Vikings after Ragnar died. Just picked it back up and I'm enjoying season 5. I like that they've broken off into multiple story lines. Floki going to Iceland is good stuff. Ivar is absolutely insane and ruthless and fascinating. Hoping it stays strong through the last 25 episodes or so that I have left. Ragnar was one of my favorite characters on television.

I thought everyone was talking about Norsemen and was very confused about the claims to historical accuracy. Also:

Last Kingdom (Vikings v English) > Kingdom (MMA) > Kingdom (Korean zombies) > Forbidden Kingdom (kung fu)

But I would watch any of them again

I've actually been re-watching the entire series from the beginning this past week and really when you compare the last two seasons to the first four it's just like a different series. I really do enjoy going back and watching again to see what an incredible actor Travis Femmel is as well as the Ragnar character.

He's so conflicted but he's also deep. He never really wanted to rule but he wanted to explore and search out other meanings to life. I just love his weird looks and reactions to things. I do wish he in Largetha had stayed together. Never liked Auslaug, still don't watching again.

I can't stand Ivar. He's just a bratty kid who got angry early because of his situation and takes his anger out on other people by having other people do his dirty work for him for the most part, don't find him fascinating at all, I find him pathetic and vengeful. The only part he's ever been kind is towards the Russian kid.

The actor that portrays him is phenomenal, Can't imagine having to drag yourself around like that so much, but I can't stand the character. As I said, pretty much wrote Floki off in season three for his extreme selfishness and pettiness, but the actor is good.

It holds up OK. I think it was pretty predictable where they go towards the end but I was glad to see it through its conclusion. There is some pretty amazing things with Bjorn and the very end is, again predictable but somewhat satisfying.

My thoughts are in lie with everyone else. The first 4 seasons or so were amazing then a big drop off after Ragnar's death. I especially liked the siege of Paris and the portage. Great stuff!

It's on Amazon prime.

The last half of the sixth season as well as have all the episodes from the entire run. I just watched all of seasons one through four in the past week or two again. There were a few things I didn't remember but most I did.

It was originally on the History Channel so it had to be historically accurate which can make entertainment less exciting.

Finally finished up this weekend.

As far as historical accuracy, as has been pointed out, Ragnar is a literary creation based on probably several people. If you go by the Norse legends, it's not accurate at all. This seems more like HC's interpretation of what the legends might have been based upon. And they were fast and loose with Ragnar's kids (Bjorn was the youngest son of Aslaug and Ivar was the oldest; his son with Lagertha was named Fridleif). Entertaining, but big dropoff after Ragnar's death. And Floki should've died in the cave-in.

I thought the last 3 episodes were actually pretty solid. Almost a return to the early seasons. No question that it went off the rails for a LONG time though.

Still amazed by the longevity of the Vikings. From the raid on Lindisfarne in 793 to the Vikings landing in North America around 1000 in one man's (Floki) lifetime.
The person that is not willing to fight and die, if need be, for his country has no right to life.
