Hey tctts, what's going on with this property? Didn't you guys option it?


I don't know if it is just that I run a strange circle but this story came up during a conversation this weekend completely unsolicited. This is the 4th or 5th Time this has happened that I can remember.

That's awesome. I cannot wait to one day tell the story of the first writer we hired, but for now that story unfortunately has to remain off of a public message board. All I can say is we're now onto a much more... agreeable... and much more capable second writer, and that we should have a new draft in the next three months or so. From there, we then take it out to directors.

Crazy, I heard of the book and story through the Fly Tying world. I listened to a fly fishing podcast with the author and it's a pretty crazy story.

If you can explain the crazy world of these crazy old-style salmon fly tiers without losing or boring the audience it could be a great movie. Something kinda like an Adam McKay treatment (The big Short, Vice) would work.

Heard this story on This American Life. Fascinating story with enough weirdness to make a great movie.

Don't know if it's a Red Violin, Adaptation, or
O Brother, Where Art Thou? But there a lot of ways you could go.
