Metallica if featured in Coco. The other two covers of this song are meh, but this one kinda does it for me.

Slowly releasing these things. This is awesome kinda cruises along for first half, but totally unexpected outro kills it.

Finally getting around to listening to the new Styx album, and it's blowing me away,

New machine head came out.

Just a 3 song set. First listen was meh.. but some cool riffs and classic MH sounds. Rob really needs to stop being such a jerk, lost a lot with Dave/Adam/Phil left.

Wow didn't think you could really improve that chorus any, but I think they've managed to do just that. One of my fav deeper cuts off the album, along with misery and god that failed.

New Dream Theater album out in October, and they're touring with Arch Echo opening. Really good instrumental band.

Ok, so for the most part you figure with so many random artists, it may be tough to find a cover that improves on the original.

Volbeat has done it.


They put life into a chorus that was already so anthemic.

And how cool of them to take the same idea of an intro that has an underlying beat that you are unaware of until the main beat comes in, but actually create a different version of it.


And adding in something like 2:53.. holy cow that kills it.

New Slaughter to Prevail album dropped a few days ago and hot damn is it a punch in the face from start to finish. Absolutely incredible and my most favorite album in a while. They killed it!



Demolisher is of course insanely good and we know this but I Killed a Man is probably my favorite at the moment though Bratva is so damn tasty. Impossible to not move your head on that track.

Just discovered these guys a couple of days ago on YouTube. French-Canadian progressive/neoclassical/technical death metal band called First Fragment. This is a guitar/bass playthrough of one of the tracks on an album they have coming out in October. Starts off slow but picks up at about 1:05

The new Leprous album is incredible. This band just keeps getting better, and they started out at a pretty high level.

Beautiful metal. That's the best I can describe much of Therion. This one is off of their latest album with Marco from Nightwish singing. The way the human voice was meant to be heard. Currently working on Leviathan 2.

I've never been a fan of opera styled power metal. Every now and then a song catches my attention. This one isn't bad. I've heard some really bad and really cheesy Therion. Didn't know they had decent songs in their catalogue.

Started making my way through the Blacklist track by track this morning,although I've already heard a dozen or so.

Here's a few good ones so far in no particular order.. my definition of good is simply not really copying the original. A good cover to me has got to have its own flair. For instance, weezer's cover of enter sandman.. meh for me. It's just the original but with Rivers singing and the distortion turned down from 11 to about a 7.














I haven't heard but about half of the 53 yet. I'll add more when I get to them!

It's the same as their cover of Africa by Toto. It's just a crappier version of the original, where they didn't do anything unique or different.

Will need to see a live show from The Warning, their drummer plays a Dave Grohl style of drumming, just punishing the drum heads.

My favorite thus far is Chris Stapleton's "Nothing Else Matters", but I'm admittedly a fanboy of his so it might be mostly due to that.

I just recently became a huge fan of VOLA. Just wanted to share the Adam Janzi drum along videos. Fantastic.

Lorna Shore won metal for the year. Holy God. I haven't been into this type of stuff since high school, but if this is how amazing the genre is I might become a deathcore guy again. And Will Ramos is officially the best metal growler of all time.
