Although I'm a big automotive fan, I never watched these movies because I'm not into the ricer stuff. But last night I was bored and making margaritas so I watched F&F1 and 2.

They're kind of dumb, but entertaining in a mindless way.

Are any of the remaining movies particularly good or bad?

I'm planning to chip away at these over the next few weeks.

Skip 3, after 4 they basically become Marvel movies.

Don't skip 3, it's gloriously bad. They're all awesome and they get progressively more absurd.

3 is underrated.

4 is good, not great, but necessary.

5 is awesome.

6 is pretty fun.

7 is ok, but worth watching for the ending alone.

8 is basically a superhero movie, but again, fun.

Agree with most of this. After the Star Wars and the MCU, F&F is probably my favorite movie franchise and I'm not ashamed about that. They are really fun movies. 5 is the best, followed by 6. 7 feels like the most spectacular of them all to me. I thought 8 was good, but a step back from the previous 3 for me.

I do like 3 and honestly 2 is one of my favorites for being dumb fun. I think 4 is definitely the most meh of the bunch.

3 could have easily been released as it's own movie, and would have likely been better received.
The plus side is, we now have another joke to go along with calling thing "_____: Electric Bugaloo" due to the title of 3.

THe other movies are fun, but they stop being about the cars as much if that's what you are looking for.

LOL this guy knows a thing or two based on his username..

FF5 seems to be on TV all the damn time especially TNT for whatever reason but it is probably the best one out of the franchise.
I honestly dont remember 6 other than the tie in to 3. 7 - damn that ending will make a grown man cry everytime. Damn you Wiz Khalifa.

Starting with 5, the series took a shift and moved away from the racing and became heist films with cool car chases. Each one basically becomes more and more insane on the believability factor, and as others had said, moves into superhero category. If you like Mission Impossible or Bond, you'll like the last four. I didn't like part 3 or 4.

Love them. 3 is the low point. 5 is the best. Still haven't brought myself to watch 8 because it doesn't have my boy Paul.

Welcome to the Family. Grab a Corona next time.

As others have said, the movies become more absurd as the series goes a long, but honestly, that's their charm.

I love these movies because they are pure, mindless action films with no agenda other than drive some cars fast, blow something up, pull a heist, and have a beer with each other at the end of the day.

Sure, they are technically dumb, but man, I can't help but have a dumb smile the entire time I'm watching them.

I can't explain it, but I love 3 so much. Probably because Han is so cool.

It's so dumb, but man, to me it has this charm to it - they way Han takes the kid under his wing.

Don't let these comments distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry's and bought three T66 turbos with NOS, and a Motec exhaust system.

Five is legitimately a great movie.

It's where the F&F series made a 180 degree turn and became the blockbuster series it is now. The subsequent ones leaned into the absurd and started to become almost parodies of themselves. Still entertaining, but definitely absurd.

But Five is a damn good movie. Some of the best stunt crashes ever.

I saw the original in theaters like 5 times. I'm not a car guy, but something about it had my junior high self hooked.

2 fast 2 furious sucked....but Eve Mendez

Tokyo Drift was very UNDERRATED...great opening scene

Fast and Furious was good, not great...but kickstarted everything again

Fast Five was awesome

6 was enjoyable, but definitely went "superhero"

7 was gut wrenching, but good

Fate of the Furious was meh, but Charlize Theron...
