I find it sad that someone on this thread is calling people who enjoy watching these, "stupid".

Many of us enjoy sharing things we love with others and find it enjoyable to watch people experience these things we care about. Don't know why that is considered "stupid" to someone.

I reread the entire thread - nobody on here said that.

There were.a couple of posts saying reaction videos are dumb (not the posters here) or they usually think they are but then gave a good example.

The word stupid in fact only appears in your post even though you quoted it as though it was used repeatedly.

Lighten up.

But I love this one. She's cute as hell, and I think she needs a towel after this one.

Watch her reaction to Tennessee Whiskey. I am pretty sure she has an orgasm on camera.

That's precisely why these have become popular. People love seeing others find out about or enjoy the things they do, especially things that are not widely known and celebrated.

There's a guy named Alex Hefner who actually lives in the Woodlands. He considered himself a "hip hop head" before discovering hard rock and metal. He does reaction videos to rock and metal music. At first it was really cool watching him realize how amazing rock music can be. I've seen him do multiple reactions to things not many people have heard. It's cool to see.

The post I was referring to seems to have been edited.

Lighten up? I was merely saying mocking what other people enjoy is a shame. You are the one that seems to need to lighten up.

if they did edit it that is why you QUOTE the original post - for posterity and proof. And your statement of some people seemed to imply more than one person.

Since I didn't see any of what you said, my reaction was logical - and the blue stars seem to agree.

I agree that the appeal is reliving a moment that affected you and experiencing it again through someone else's eyes. I compare it to watching Return of the Jedi for the first time with my 8 year old daughters. I turned around and watched/filmed their reactions to "Luke, I am your father" rather than watching the movie. That moment of shock in their eyes took me right back to when I was their age.

I've seen a few vocal videos but I have really enjoyed New Zealand Girl reacting to drum corps videos. There are moments in these shows that bring me to tears. It is can be so powerful but after you've seen it that first time, you'll never get to experience that emotion again. I enjoy watching someone else who seems otherwise unaware of the activity having genuine emotional experiences.

Best example of that is her reacting to the entire show, but especially the last 2 minutes of 2015 Carolina Crown.

Rick Beato's channel, Everything Music, has a series called "What makes this song great". Love hearing the technical side from a veteran producer.

The reaction videos to the Red Wedding got me interested in Game of Thrones. I had not seen an episode yet, but started binge watching on the next HBO free preview weekend and then subscribed to catch up before the following season.

I thought this was going to be like movie theater reactions and I was going to say yes, don't think I've heard of this genre of reaction videos.

I never heard of these either until one day I randomly ran across this guy reacting to Free Bird. I can't imagine anything being as entertaining so I haven't watched any others. Skip to 8:00 for the part that cracked me up. Guitar break blows his mind.

Sometimes I watch kids react or the other one where they have kids try to guess older popular songs.

This one is entertaining.

I used to watch the FBE stuff, but then they had teens/college students watch and react to Seinfeld, and I started to slowly back away

Not really the same but I ran across this video recently and have now watched it several times. Some here are already familiar with Larnell Lewis and/or Snarky Puppy. He listened to Enter Sandman for the first time. One time through. Then plays along.

Not only is the video itself awesome to watch, it's spawned a number of reaction videos from other drummers. Which I've also watched.

The whole thing is about drug use and how the drug is the master.

I have never met a single person who did not know that song was about drug use. It is REALLY obvious.

Next you are going to be the one who reveals that blackened is about pollution and global warming. WHAT A SHOCK!

Most I have seen didn't really think it was about anything until they paid attention to the words. I have seen some where they thought it was satanic because it is by a metal band. It really is quite funny.
well how in the hell is anyone supposed to know what any song is about unless they paid attention to the words?

That's just dumb.

I love Rick Beato's videos. I always gain a deeper appreciation for how my favorite songs are constructed and mixed. Adam Neely is fantastic too.

Recently, I went down the rabbit hole of watching young musicians cover specific instruments in popular songs. Juliaplaysgroove has a fun channel. She's a young bassist in Poland who covers a wide variety of genres. This is one of my favorites.

This video is tailor made for reaction videos.

If you haven't come across one, then watch a few.

I got into reaction videos in like 2017/2018 lol. Don't really watch them much anymore.

Not only does he pretty much nail it he plays it better than Lars. He's so good.

I was 11 when I first heard enter sandman and could play it on drums after first listen.

Why don't he try a song that isn't their most basic song?

It's funny these have really become a joke amongst the Heavy Devy FB group(s). I personally still think they're awesome even if Deadhead or Kingdom, but I just love Devin no matter what.

Last concert I saw before all the shutdowns, exactly 1 year ago today. Did the meet and greet and Devin was a little under the weather. Still killed it that night. Same band, Keneally, Che, Morgan, etc. Was great seeing the more stripped back approach to that tour, vs. a lot of the DTP shows where there were backing tracks and all that.

yeh it seems this was 100% live, except for maybe some harmonies of his that sound like back up.

I hesitated on his denver stop, then it sold out. Then I was frantically trying to fine one that wasn't some scam..

Then it all shut down. I'm hoping he comes back and it goes on sale again, but I'm not sure if it was 'postponed' or canceled with refunds.

I was able to get my last show in on 3/2/2020 - Opeth.

She posted another one a couple of weeks ago with Queensryche's Silent Lucidity. I wish Chris Degarmo hadn't left the music industry to become a Jet Pilot. He was a damn good guitarist and even better song writer.
