Some of y'all may have seen the HBO documentary released the end of last year, which was great. Well here comes the feature film. Barry Gibb will have a lot of say and is a listed producer.

My question, who would you have play the main characters?

Barry
Robin
Maurice
Andy
Robert Stigwood

Betting Clapton ends up a character too

Heath Ledger would have been perfect for Barry.

For the past few months I've been working with the company who's producing this. Super smart, hardworking team with impeccable taste. I have no doubt they'll deliver.

I just hope they spend time on their early career and not just disco. Massachusetts and I Started a Joke are great songs.

I think the most fascinating period would be the lead up to and making of Main Course when they reinvented their sound

To be fair, they were always a white R&B band, never a "disco" band. That label got thrown in because of the times and the use of synth.

To Love Somebody is one of the best songs of all time for my money.

EDIT: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart is right up there too.

The Gibb brothers were among the best songwriters of the last half of the 20th century but because of their association with disco and the backlash that it created, they haven't gotten nearly the credit they deserve until recently. It's a shame Maurice and Robin aren't around to see it.
