Strangely enough, I've never watched this movie because I always came in somewhere in the middle or near the end. I'm watching it from the beginning for the first time and finding it quite interesting. Anyone else have thoughts on this "big bada boom" movie?

I have zero problems with that scene. Fits beautifully. When the blue thing starts flipping her arms and moving her stomach in and out with magnificent vocals - it kills.

Creepy/Odd movie fact. Plavalaguna is played by Luc Besson's wife, Maiwenn, whom he started dating when she was 15 and had a kid with her when she was 16. Having his wife around the movie set didnt stop him from getting involved with Milla Jovovich during filming and by the end of that year he divorced his 21 year old wife to marry 21 year old Milla

Yikes!

I think my biggest beef about this movie - and this is extremely unfair - is that I find Milla Jovovich to be very unattractive. I guess she's supposed to be cute and endearing - at least to Korben? - but it does not work for me at all.

But uh... different strokes, I guess? Some men are repulsed by her, some men leave their wives for her!
