One of my favorite movie endings, not a Hollywood ending at all, but one you think about long after you watch. I love the speech he gives Morgan Freeman explaining why.

Yes. He did.

My wife and I almost had a fight at the end of the movie over that question.

I took him volunteering to babysit and investing in her as him knowing he did the right thing but was willing to be a part of the consequences of making the right choice.

Great thought-provoking movie ending. It felt so wrong, but it was right. Some people will put the child's welfare above the legality of the situation, but that is a slippery slope.
