The original film left out the part where Alex says, "Rylan is reborn today. The war is just beginning. And I will not be the last starfighter." Just a simple retcon should fix it.

I loved the original, but remakes / reboots / sequels / prequels of 80s Intellectual Properties have a losing record.

The few winners include: The Force Awakens and Cobra Kai
Losers include: the Karate Kid with Will Smith Jr, every other Star Wars, and every other attempt.

I would love a sequel!! Especially with Playstation and X-box .. this thing could be awesome but that being said.. it would be hard to replace Centari. He brought the humor that made this movie so much fun. Also, agree it can't be a retelling of the story we already seen.. it should grow the universe. Maybe a new human starfighter pilot.. maybe Maggie and Alex kid.

And I, for one, would prefer a video game release instead of another Starfighter movie remake/sequel/prequel.

It doesn't seem like it should be a hard thing to write, and make fun. I hope they do, though. I watched my betamax copy of this movie so many times that it was practically a black and white film by the end.
