New Netflix from Tommy Thompsons book Serpentine dealing with the con/ killer Charles Sobhraj. I have had an interest in this guy and advise most who travel, particularly on the cheap to read the book.

I liked the series so far with great footage of old Bangkok, Nepal, Kashmir and hippies.

We are on episode 5 - very entertaining. Wish i could have seen thailand back then. But glad i got my tour of hong kong, china, etc., in 2007-9. Not the same anymore i expect. Though probably less changed for the worse than mexico.

I watched all episodes. I was not wild about the constant changes of time/setting - all in all - a good show about a bad man.

Just started Ep 3 last night. I'm a little off put by the changing timelines too. It makes the show difficult to keep up with. I feel like I should start taking notes. On the other hand, I think it is an important way to show how everything went down.

True. 3 months back, 6 months later etc was excessive but for the most part I think they did a good job of stringing it all together

Watched the whole thing this weekend. Really liked it.

By the end, I got used to the time flipping thing, and appreciate why they did it that way.

Read something about when Thompson interviewed Sobhraj for his book, Serpentine, he went to the prison near Delhi. Sobhraj was chained to a tree with armed guards nearby and actually knew everything about Thimpson. This was before Internet. Creepy

I also found scenes of the Magic Bus or the Hippy highway.
