So, on your first spoiler that was my question in my post. What happened there?MASAXET said:
It was ridiculous and to say there were plot holes would be a massive understatement. There were also cinematography and script continuity issues, and a few terrible acting performances. Having said all of that, I still enjoyed it enough to not feel like I wasted time.
The thing that bothered me the most was excising the friend who needed rescuing from the entire finale scene. I actually went back to see what the hell happened with her, and it was just a terrible job of directing in that regard.
As for a lot of the questions on this thread, it may help to know that a zombieverse is being planned with a few prequels already set to go. So some of those open questions (ex. the lights in the sky at the beginning, robot zombies ) may get answered/explored further. There is also talk about a sequel but I don't know if that is confirmed. Could easily see it be about another outbreak in Mexico city from Vanderho
Short answer is they completely bungled the directing and/or editing. When the helicopter shows up, she gets into the passenger seat up front. That's the last we see of her, save for one splitsecond shot of her face in the helicopter. They just completely ignore her presence through that whole last action scene. Then after the crash, they only show the pilot's body when the daughter looks into the wreckage - they never show the friend's body. Based upon the daughter's reaction, we must assume either (1) the friend is also dead from the crash and they just don't show the body, or (2) the friend entered another portal and all memory of her has been erased from the other characters.YouBet said:So, on your first spoiler that was my question in my post. Thanks. That was very confusing.MASAXET said:Short answer is they completely bungled the directing and/or editing. When the helicopter shows up, she gets into the passenger seat up front. I thoroughly enjoyed the new season of Love, Death, and Robots. There have been some other shows/movies that I can't name off of the top of my head, but some of these bigger projects have missed in a big way.Sex Panther said:

Temp check was kind of obvious I thought, when infected a person's body temperature drops so it's a check to see if an individual looks to be trending in a bad direction.Gaius Rufus said:

Why was there a refugee camp right outside of Las Vegas? Why would the government put a bunch of unarmed civilians just outside of a large mass of zombies? Also, why would they need to check their temperatures?

As far as this movie goes, I enjoyed the mindlessness of it and I knew what I was getting into...But...
Ultimately, this movie was about nothing and the entire reason they sent a team in just didn't make sense. Why not find the coyote and have her take the security guy in so he can saw a head off. Why go through all the trouble of hiring a team, telling them to steal money, and then worry about them getting out?

Finally...
They should have turned the 10-15 minute montage of Vegas falling into the actual movie. I would have loved watching that. Hopefully that's what the prequel is. I will watch the rest of the media in this universe as the premise is interesting.
More thought was put into that video than the movie itself.Gaius Rufus said:
That was brilliant!
Nope. Intentionally left open and unresolved, including the zombie robotsOnlyForNow said:
So what's with the blue eyes/blue mist?
That was not explained right?
I think there are potentially two different issues: robot zombies and the zombies with the blue brain matter. Because there are a few zombies, I think all alphas, who have the blue brain splatter when shot. This includes the main alpha, Zeus, when he's shot in the helicopter.OnlyForNow said:
Ya, just read that.
I didn't notice that they appeared metalic etc. I thought the blue mist was just their blood/brains, some of their eyes were blue, I guess that's the thing?
The other zombies eyes are not blue.
I saw that, but thought that was just ****ty CGI...Quote:
are a couple that take headshots and appear to be robots. Why? Because.
It wouldn't be surprising. There is a dead pixel throughout the movie. Never seen something like that before. I assume it was an issue with the camera they used and no one caught it in post.SteveA said:I saw that, but thought that was just ****ty CGI...Quote:
