Arguably one of the greatest rap lyrics of all time: "Oh yes, ladies, I'm really being sincere; Cause in a 69 my humpty nose will tickle ya rear".
Quote:
A fictional biography was constructed for Humpty, the story being that Edward Ellington Humphrey III, former lead singer of "Smooth Eddie and the Humpers," had become a rapper after burning his nose in a kitchen accident with a deep-fryer
Yep..........March of '92. Indigo Girls played the year before. Can't remember any outside of those two.Big Cat `93 said:
My memory is shaky, but I do believe DU played at DeWare back in my day.

Just read his wiki page. Pretty fascinating guy.
I had no idea that Humpty's nasally voice was fake. I guess I always thought it was too crazy of a singing voice to be made up. I also had no idea that there was a whole back story for the fake nose.Quote:

So many great lines in Humpty Dance, and that bass line is so iconic.
Freaks of the Industry is another good one.
I couldn't hear anything for a day or two after going to that concert because of the bass!Big Cat `93 said:

For an instant I thought you were saying that Digital Underground and Indigo Girls played the same show. Most unlikely tour mates ever?deadhead aggie said:Yep..........March of '92. Indigo Girls played the year before. Can't remember any outside of those two.Big Cat `93 said:

Jesus, that movie is terrible.
Don't know how I missed this news about Shock G. Did anybody ever figure out which club it was? Those are the same years I was in school and I don't recall seeing them and if I didn't I don't know why I wouldn't have gone.Fairview said:
Digital Underground also played at some club at A&M between 96 and 00. I went to that show and when the show ended with the Humpty Dance he walked off stage and I just walked back stage - no one even gave me a second look. I walked up to him shook his hand and we chatted for a minute or two with the nose still on. It was pretty awesome.
