I'm pretty sure you can get a free trial for a week.

HBOMax has a ton of high quality original programming that you can literally spend months watching. It just depends if that programming is your cup of tea.

Either way, I spent more than $15 last night on mediocre delivery from Uber Eats.

I've been enjoying all the directly released movies. If you couple that with any series you might want to watch but haven't yet, I'd say its worth it, at least for a month. $15 gets you King Kong vs Godzilla, Mortal Kombat, JL the Snyder Cut, and all the HBO/HBOmax series. You don't need to get a full year subscription.

The pro for HBOMax is the content. There's so much that you could spend months going through everything.
The con for HBOMax is the interface. It's so bad, that you could spend months just trying to find anything.

NO joke. They have tons of kid content in there that doesnt fall into the Cartoon Network, Looney Toons, or Sesame Street bucket, buts its near impossible to find and i'm not gonna let my kids have free reign over the HBOMax app to go hunting for kid friendly stuff.

The animated Super hero programs and documentaries are very entertaining.

Have you tried setting up a profile that locks them into age appropriate stuff only? My son is too young to actually do the surfing himself so I don't know how well it works.

People complain about the interface but I'd take it over Hulu's any day personally

If you have a smart TV it won't work on LG. We have two Sony's and one LG. I can download the app on the Sony's but not the LG. It's an Apple vs Android thing. Frustrating.

I didnt realize it had profiles like how Netflix and Prime Video do. I will give that a shot. I need to get the younger one to watch anything other than Pinkfong

Yes, you can set-up kid profiles now. There is a lot of kid content now.

HBOMax is the most watched streaming channel at our house. I've canceled Disney+. We have Netflix, but I hardly watch it, The kids like a few shows on it.

At our house it's anything to replace the mouse and his clubhouse. I don't know that the profile makes it any easier to actually find stuff, but I know you can put your child's age in and it will lock them only into content appropriate for them.

I feel your pain. My oldest went through a one year phase where the mouse was all he wanted to watch. Hot Dog!

Comes free with ATT internet. I'd get it anyway, but that's a plus. As someone else said, not having a dedicated app on the smart tv stinks, but having to stream from a device isn't that bad.

Here's my biggest problem with it: for a service that's really pushing how they have these big movies same day as in the theaters, they don't keep them on their site for very long. At all.

I noticed that their recent big release, Kong vs. Godzilla, is only going to be available for another week. What? The same thing happed with Wonder Woman 84. Only available for a month or so. I bet the same thing will happen to Mortal Kombat....it'll be gone by mid-May.

That just seems.....wrong to me. If you don't see Kong vs. Godzilla in the next week, you'll have to go see it in the theater.

I get HBOMax free as well with my AT&T wireless plan. If you have AT&T you might check it out. They don't really advertise it that well.

i think its somewhat of a compromise to the theater chains and on-demand rental services as many people wont go see these movies in theaters due to Covid but Warner needs a way to recoup the money spent making these films so why not put them on your new streaming platform to boost initial sign up numbers. Once their theatrical run is over, the movie will be only be available to buy or rent for a few months then it will finally appear as a HBO Max streaming option permanently. There is no guarantee Warner will continue releasing movies on HBOMax after this year. It is a good sales technique to get people to sign up for the service

Normally they wouldn't have those movies until like a year after release. The deal they made to get these released same day more than like had a time period built into it as movies still want to maximize sales. And for them having it on a streaming services indefinitely from the start, is not maximizing profit.

They literally announced when they would have movies when they released in theaters that it would be for 30 days.
