So it's really Spinal Tap vs the Blues Brothers for the championship and Soggy Bottom Boys vs the Muppets for 3rd and 4th.

That's the way I see it.

And since I've actually seen Spinal Tap in concert, I'm going with Tap for the win.

Right on the former, wrong on the latter. The Blues Brothers really did help revitalize interest in the blues. For John and Dan, it was a mission from God.

Well this did not go as expected - and everyone will be pissed off I am sure - but they would be either way I think. I sensed a lot of anti voting in the results. but I don't really care - it is what it is and has been fun for me. Especially how worked up everyone has been about certain bands they hold dear.


In the semifinals:

1 O' Brother, Where Art Thou?: Soggy Bottom Boys vs The Muppets: Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem 15

The Muppets got out to an early lead but never more than 2 or 3 votes. Then late yesterday The Soggy Bottom Boys swung into the lead narrowly. But today the voting swung back the other way and The Muppets ended up victorious with a vote of 57-52. The surprising cinderella story continues.


2 This is Spinal Tap vs The Blues Brothers 1

The Blues Brothers took an early lead yesterday of up to 10 votes, but ever since Spinal Tap has been chipping away at that lead. As of my noon cutoff the last vote was for Spinal Tap...... but The Blues Brothers hung on for the narrow 55-54 win.


The Championship will pit two 70s TV based iconic bands that were a part of movies and other specials over the years.
