Just went and saw mortal kombat (yikes)... One of the trailers was for the conjuring 3, which i didn't even realize was a thing.

It looks really great, and the first two are among my favorite horror movies, though it worries me that it's a new director.

Anybody else have thoughts? Probably the first post-pandemic movie I'm really excited to see.

Everything I've seen for it looks excellent, I'm in.

Just finished watching it at home. Maybe it's just me, but I felt it was lacking in the "horror" sense. I'm a huge fan of the first one and the second one was pretty good as well. This one just didn't live up to the expectations I had.

Lots of suspense, not as many scares as the first two. But I liked it. I like these Warren stories.

I liked this one a lot. It was more original and not just jump scares (which there are some).

If you like the Ed and Lorraine Warren stuff their book The Demonologists is really good. It's not dramatized into suspenseful stories. It's pretty much their case notes. It's scary but in a while different way. Creepy stuff that makes you think twice about some things.

I really appreciated that they took some risks and this wasn't a haunted house movie

I'm a big fan of the Conjuring movies and their offspring thus far - thought this installment was the weakest of the three main movies and not nearly as scary as the first two. It was still enjoyable but you can feel the difference in director talent. Definitely felt like a step down for the series.
