Really good episode. That fall had to hurt like a mofo

edit: I've been thinking this for a while, but am I the only one that is surprised the Batch only stuns most enemies?

Yeah, I told me son Hunter's knife wasn't going to slow him down on that boulder.

Guessing it's because they view the other clones not as their enemies but as their brothers?

Is the only appearance of the stun gun in the OT when Leia gets zapped on the Tantive IV?

In the OT I believe so

I was wondering about all the stunning and your idea of it does make sense.but near the end of this episode when Wrecker opens the door of the ship to rescue everyone he starts blasting the empire troops with a normal blaster killing them.

I don't get the use of stun except that it's a Disney kids show. There was an early episode (maybe the pilot?) where I thought they were going to lean in to Star WARS having some violence and consequences, but now, not so much

Considering all their enemies are still using live rounds and both Clone Wars and Rebels used stun pretty sparingly, I feel safe in saying it has nothing to do with it being a kid's show.

I think they're trying to draw a distinction between the good guys who stun and the bad guys who shoot to kill.

I also thought they had a comment in one of the episodes about using stun against clones.

The storm troopers? Who (other than crosshair) can't actually hit anyone?

Maybe with Cad Bane the stakes felt high, but only one somewhat main character died and it was off screen.

Crosshair straight up executed one of his own troopers and assassinated that head of state. It's still a kids show, but they've definitely differentiated the good guys from bad.

Stun in the cartoons hits the target every time, you think everyone would use it.

Really good episode, didn't see Hunter getting left behind, much applause. Liked the Kaminoan prime minister's attempted double cross blowing up in his face.

As much as I love any sort of Star Wars it continues to be really dumb that they know they are wanted by the Empire but they keep flying the same ship and wearing the same uniforms.

Two things about this episode that really stood out to me.
- The new stormtrooper armor is a dead on to the original Ralph McQuarrie storyboards
- The moment we find out the troopers aren't clones, the chase music switches to the DS chase theme from ANH.

Ranger fans you're not dreaming! The Rangers are the World Series Champions!

Not to diss Kevin Kiner, who has done some remarkable work scoring all of the 'toon series, but anytime they throw in some movie soundtrack stuff, it just makes everything better.

So is the Order 66 programming just fading? We've had several non-99 clone troopers rebel against the Empire now.

Since Gregor and Rex already knew each other, it's possible Rex told him to remove his chip. When/how he would have done that alone, idk. It's also possible that Gregor's bit of crazy somehow broke the chip.

One thing I'm getting tired of on this show, and hope gets faded out:

I'm tired of the Bad Batch insisting on using the stun setting when in firefights with the Empire. I understood it at first (these are their brothers and don't want to hurt them), but it's getting old.

I noticed in this episode that, when Wrecker and Omega showed up in the ship to rescue the rest, the hatch opened and Wrecker absolutely blasted the Imperials. He outright killed several of them. Also, when they were trying to escape the Empire's ships, Wrecker blew them out of the sky. There was no GI Joe cartoon-style parachutes coming out to show the pilots survived.

But, now that they are learning that the Empire is now using Stormtroopers and not Clones, maybe they won't have any hesitation in shooting to kill from now on......

Enjoyed Gregor showing up and tying it to rebels. I was wondering if Rex was going to be apart of this mission to save him.

My thinking is that Order 66 only applied to viewing the Jedi as traitors. Since there are no Jedi around, it wouldn't affect their thinking. It wouldn't pertain to the switch from the Republic to the Empire.

My real missing question in all this is, What is the Bad Batch's motivation here? Are they solely trying to keep Omega safe? Because if that was the case, the 4 of them could easily ditch the armor, go out and find a farm somewhere, or get menial jobs on one of a billion planets, and never be seen from again. Only Wrecker would stand out in most normal circumstances. They could pull a Galen Erso and vanish, or even do what the clones of Baron Fel did in Zah's Vision of the Future - buy some farms and enjoy the simple life.

They're motivated by credits only to the point where it keeps them fed and with fuel in the tank. They refused Rex's offer to help the forming of the Rebellion for not much of a reason other than "we're on a different path." But why would they be? They can see that the Empire is wrong because of the way it's treating people and the way it turned on the Jedi. Is the team's motivation to win back Crosshair and get his chip out? They never say this, but it seems like they don't really want to be his enemy.

It's a good question. All of the episodes are either a mission for Sid or helping someone in need. The latter makes sense just from a "good guys" perspective. However, getting food and supplies seems doable without putting themselves in risk for Sid.

They're just trying to figure it out. They were bred to be soldiers, literally, and now can't do that anymore. They know literally nothing else. It would be a tough thing.

That's why it doesn't make sense they wouldn't help Rex. he's a commander that they all know and respect, and he saved them all from the potential future chip issues.

Saw on a YouTube video that some folks involved in the post-production were going on and on about how hyped they were about these last 2 episodes airing because of what's in them

Good to hear, but always taken with caution. We've heard a lot of people working these D+ shows hyping their own products in the last year. Hasn't always been good follow through.

I hope it ends well. So far I put this show just above resistance but that's not saying much.

Today's episode has a 9.4 rating on IMDB..highest of the whole series so far including the 1.5 hr long first episode.

Phenomenal episode, really incredible that it was only the first of two parts.

Better than the opener because it was only 26 minutes - no fluff

Lots of twists and turns, great use of the Kamino theme music.

Really excited to see what happens in Part 2 of the finale. I would rank that in the top 10 episodes of SW animated history.
