Anyone in country music currently that is along the lines of Alan Jackson or any of the older country traditionalists? Looking to try and find good new country music.

BTW there is a limited time Alan Jackson channel on SXM right now

Kind of funny hearing a song about meth sang on the GOO stage.

But thanks for the leads to both of you! Keep them coming if there are more

Haha yeah he definitely doesn't look or sing about things your typical GOO performance would. But damn if it doesn't sound great.

I assume you have heard of Tyler Childers? He's a little more bluegrass as well, but I love this cover with Colter Wall (who is badass on his own)

Not necessarily a traditionalist in the Alan Jackson mode (think a bit more of a throwback sound), but Charley Crockett:

Also does a credible cover of Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues":

American Aquarium's most recent CD has been a bit of a throwback, and they just released an album of 90s country covers

Cody Jinks is always pretty reliable, though I'd say his style goes a bit further back. He did do a pretty good cover of Chasin' that Neon Rainbow on his recent live album.

Ward Davis is another good one

i've really been on a kick recently with Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, and Colter Wall. the pandora station throws in some jason isbell, sturgil, and Christ Stapleton, but those are the main three i like.

Sturgil Simpson and Ryan Bingham

Got to see Childers at the last ACL, and he was great. Just recently saw Cody Jinks here in Austin with Travis Tritt, and that was a great show.

But Sturgil reminds me of Waylon. Just a great voice with real country music.

Add Sierra Ferrell to this list. She's amazing.

I listened to a fair amount of country back when Alan Jackson was big, it would have never occurred to me that you could throwback to his style or that he was traditional. To borrow a meme from a recent auto board thread...

Not sure whose version of Goodtime Charlie's Got the Blues I heard first, but a quick run over to YouTube has a Hall of Fame lineup of people that covered it

Elvis
Dwight Yoakum
Willie Nelson
Johnny Rodriguez
Chet Atkins
Leon Russell

It's always cool when a song attracts people like that.

Ron Eckert, Class of '90, has some old-style country on Pandora.

Correction: Spotify, not Pandora.
