Just went through the 4 seasons currently on Netflix. Sounds like one more to come this fall. Anyone else into this show? Really enjoyed it!

There was a pretty good thread on the Last Kingdom a while back. I'm also looking forward to the new season, great show.

I thought it was terrific and just finished all 4 seasons a couple of days ago. I don't think this is a spoiler but I had one small issue towards the end of season 4 when Uhtred and his men were captured and strung up by their feet. I kept waiting for Dr. Evil's son to ask him "why not just kill him now?"

Overall it's a really great show with terrific characters and like Game of Thrones, don't get too attached as many suffer untimely deaths. Although the actor who portrays Uhtred is not 6-4 or whatever he is in the books (I've never read them) he's definitely physical enough to be believable and has good acting chops.

What's also great about this series is it's based on a 10 book series that's already complete with every season covering 2 books each. In other words, no waiting on the author like GoT and then just making it up towards the end that left everyone unsatisfied.

They hopefully will stick the landing in season 5 and they have the blueprint in the books. I plan on reading them all once the show concludes as I don't want to be spoiled.

Yeah, cancelling after season 5 means they don't get to cover the last three books of the series. I had hoped season 6 would finish the books (as each season so far has covered two books). 5 seasons means 10 books (out of 13 total).

My biggest takeaway was Uhtred's INCREDIBLE ability to pick up better and better looking women by pure luck, an uncanny ability.

Started with a Bebbanburg 3 and ended the season with a Wessex 10!
