In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity, especially when you've heard it both ways, but that's all about to change. We are about to officially and definitively decided on the best Psych episode ever. You know that's right.



There are 120 total episodes, including Psych the Musical, but not including the two movies. Each episode was ranked according to their IMDB episode rating and then placed in one of 4 regions. The regions were snaked, so the top #1 seed has the lowest #2 seed in their bracket, etc. The top two seeds in each region get a bye and automatic bid into the 64-episode bracket.

Is that my number 1 pick from this region vs my favorite underrated episode in there? IS THAT MY NUMBER 1 PICK FROM THIS REGION VS MY FAVORITE UNDERRATED EPISODE IN THERE!?!

My criteria was that all season 8 episodes immediately get voted against (except for episode 1). God that season was so bad.

The Cloudy Remake and Nightmare on State Street are not great. Nightmare is rated 6.3 on IMDB and the second worst episode is a 7.6. That's quite a chasm.

Not that many upsets so far. 18-seed Cog Blocked took down 15-seed Forget Me Not, 17-seed A Very Juliet Episode took down 16-seed Ghosts, and 19-seed Meat is Murder, but Murder is also Murder took down 14-seed The Old and the Restless

No big shakeups in the early round for me, the only dog I voted for was Autopsy Turvy over Scary Sherry. Gotta go with a Woody episode.

I wish Right Turn or Left for Dead had a different matchup, I like that one better than some of the other mid-lower seed episodes but not enough to vote over Santabarbaratown.

As expected, Last Night Gus garnered 100% of the votes against Any Given Friday Night at 10 PM, 9 PM Central.
Extradition II also received 100% of the votes against 9 Lives

Deez Nups vs 100 Clues was tough for me.

Had to 100 Clues on the strength of the Chocolate Room dance.



Hated having to vote against Extradition: British Columbia, but Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark is a great episode. Also went Santabarbaratown 2 over Mr Yin on the strength of Blueberry/Cranberry destruction.

It matters not, because "Last Night Gus" is going to win the whole thing.

Quite a few upsets yesterday:

• In the closest match-up, which was also the hardest vote for me, 6-seed Extradition: British Columbia took out 3-seed Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark by a single vote.
• 8-seed Lock, Stock, and Some Smoking Barrels took out 1-seed and series finale The Break-Up.
• 6-seed Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing edged out 3-seed Heeeeere's Lassie by only two votes.
• 5-seed Indiana Shawn took out 4-seed Not Even Close...Encounters
• 6-seed Gus Walks Into a Bank took out Gus T.T. Showbiz and 3-seed American Duos

• Finally, in another tough match-up for me, 7-seed 65 Million Years Off absolutely crushed 2-seed Tuesday, the 17th

I'll be honest, I didn't get the high rating for Tuesday the 17th. I always thought that was just an ok episode.

Some good and some bad in the upsets. I love Shawn takes a Shot in the Dark, but Despereaux just will not be stopped in this tournament. I like both Lassie episodes, so can't really complain there.

I voted for Gus Walks Into a Bank myself, I think its a better quality episode than American Duos.

In an upset, 4-seed Extradition II: The Actual Extradition Part took out 1-seed An Evening with Mr. Yang by a single vote. While I think the first instalment of the Yin/Yang series is superior, it would be weird to have an elite eight without Pierre Despereaux.

In a second upset, 6-seed Gus Walks into a Bank took out 2-seed Dual Spires.

LNG vs DN is like choosing a favorite child.

I'll be honest, I'm pretty surprised at how this has turned out. Last Night Gus is the only one of the final 4 that I think is actually one of the 4 best episodes.

From the beginning I thought it would come down to LNG vs a Yin/Yang episode. I'm surprised how far Deez Nups has gone, but I get it with the drama at the end. And you can't count out Despereaux!

Last Night Gus vs Mr. Yin Presents. Will the winner be the height of shenanigans amongst the male Santa Barbarian detectives or the height of drama in the Yin/Yang saga?

I have always loved how Gus picks up Juliet's gun and goes into the sewer in that episode. It's an easy detail to not pay much attention to, I think. Gus is usually portrayed as being averse to dangerous situations in most episodes, but when Juliet was in trouble, he went after her, into an unknown situation involving a known serial murderer, without hesitation.
