I didn't make it very far when I tried it after reading this thread, but I wondered if he was just doing a parody of all podcasts with the constant recaps and previews of what he wants to get to.

Haha, didn't think about it that way but you could be right.

Definitely some repeating going on that can get tiresome when binging it but there is definitely some genius building upon things i believe. Like in episode 2 when he's doing the stakeout and he casually mentions there's a crow out here, one line, nothing else, then episode 3 that same crow he casually mentioned is in the background f'ing with him and he now talks about the pet/bird store and the bird song is genius. Just things like that i love about it.

The foosball thing starts out small and then becomes a huge part of the story.

Is the discord/Good Morning Burbank podcast worth it?

For some reason, I'm still listening. Not sure why. It has its moments. Mostly the commercials and jingle. The "main story" is pretty boring.

yeah, the main story has totally started to wear on me. It's clearly secondary to the commercials and songs, but that might be a design flaw because I don't find myself dying to hear more episodes like a did early on.

No i have not been able to bring myself to spend any money on a podcast. I do have a friend that has paid and joined the discord but mainly he just plays Jan That Movie with Doug, he finds it pretty amusing, I'll ask him if he's listened to any of the GM Burbank episodes

Bout halfway through this and enjoying it. How does this make any money given all the ads are fake and integral to the content of the podcast?

I thought this was funny at first but gets to be kind of a drag after a few episodes. I thought the storyline was funny at first but it doesn't really seem to go anywhere. I think it would be funnier if he wrapped up the plot in a few episodes and moved on to another storyline to keep it fresh.

Also maybe this is just me, but I don't really find the bumbling idiot shtick to be all that funny after so many iterations of failure. I just start to find the character frustrating.

Haven't listened to this one yet but the description says we finally find out who was using the trash for drugs.

My money is still on Faye being the dealer. She's been hiding out with her dad till the heat dies down since she's been running drugs for yogi Donovan and his wife.

All the DEA agent and his mom, the car wash guy and his son, Pete and the parrot, and the Canadian foosball champion stuff is just smoke.


I love that I can type all that and it makes perfect sense for anybody listening but sounds BSC for anybody else.

Another great episode, and i'm only halfway through it.

Have y'all listened to the first two episodes of season 2? The "put a banana loaf out" comparing it to "sleeps with the fishes" is probably my favorite bit so far on the show. So funny!

So is this thing pretty much over? I cant imagine the creation of Doug Duguay, the podcast, etc. over a few months he would just quit.

I found out about this podcast 2 weeks ago and listened to episode 1. It was probably funnier during the scamdemic when creatives were stuck at home.

Since this is my hood, I'll try a couple more episodes before calling it quits.

I always tell people to stick through episode 1.
You'll be LYAO for the next few episodes.
It does go off the rails a bit the further you get into the series but there's some absolute gold in it.

Just starting episode 3 and he's talking about wild parrots. I had never seen one but I installed a security camera recently with video and sound and I caught one flying away from my fence - squawking.

I've had two birds of prey kill smaller birds and a squirrel in my front yard. We suspect they live in Griffith Park just south of The Burbank Rancho.
