Jimmy Fallon idolized Carson (who didn't) and wanted to make the Tonight Show that sort of way again - incredible skits up front, and then basically him schmoozing celebrities so they'll keep coming back. His interviewing is terrible, but his game show stuff and musical stuff are really fun when you're trying to relax and de-stress. And him and Paul Rudd recreating music videos is other-worldly.

Colbert - I was his biggest fan when he was doing the Colbert Report. Now he's a cookie cutter. I think I saw every episode of the Report ever. What a downer.

Kimmel - love the mean tweets and when he has parents punk their kids like they ate the halloween candy. I guess he's political, but I don't really give a **** about anyone's politics.

Conan - incredible. if you haven't listened to his podcast, make it happen, especially when he has David Letterman on.

Loved the end and his commentary about pursuing the intersection of smart and stupid. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in comedy couch it in those words, but it's perfect.

I never appreciated Conan until his podcast. But he is truly a funny guy. Even when he interviews guests I don't know or like its entertaining.

Sidenote: I really can't stand the current batch of late night hosts, especially Fallon and Corden. Their ridiculously over-the-top personas and fakeness is so grating that I can hardly stand to watch clips of them.

I understand not liking his personality... but I don't think Fallon is fake at all. I think that's genuinely him and he's just that happy all the time.

The essence of his personality is fakeness.

He's best friends with everyone, and every single guest is either "buddy" or "pal" even if they just met.

Admittedly he's probably a nice guy in real life, but that kind of over-the-top niceness comes off really try-hard and annoying after a while.

I will agree that some of his variety show type bits are pretty fun, and same for Corden. It's mainly their interviews I can't stand.

Also, every single guest on Fallon is "OMG the greatest!"

It's his job to be excited and hype a guest, but if he would just dial back a little, he'd be a lot easier to watch.

But which podcast show. I see different podcast shows for Conan. Not the episode.

I'm following @teamcoco on Instagram and it's crazy to see how impactful Conan's "coaching tree" is. So many interns and writers he's worked with turned out to be big names: John Krasinski, Mindy Kaling, JB Smoove, Deon Lewis, Vanessa Bayer, Bob Odenkirk, Greg Daniels.

You know Dennis Franz? Hates warlocks. Can't stand them and their dark arts.

When Conan had The Situation on as a guest he kept checking himself out on one of the stage monitors. The next night Conan made fun of him for it and played a clip where he counted every time he looked at the screen. I thought It was hilarious.
