It's truly a perfect film. I laughed, I cried, I said wtf. It's brilliant.

Don't know if I would call it a perfect film but it was certainly brilliant.

It was a nice movie, though certainly revisionist in some ways. Liked it alot.

Yeah, the choice to have a Maori-Jew play Hitler wasn't very period accurate.

I am in this camp. I had heard of it but didn't have a clue what it was even about. TV was on in one of the rooms and it came on and I just stood there watching completely locked in.

Easily in my top 10 of all time and I am completely serious.

Scarlett's best performance ever, IMO.
Sam Rockwell is simply perfect in his role.
Rebel Wilson was hilarious.
JoJo, Elsa, and Yorki, the kids that played those roles were amazing.

And Taika Waititi is probably the only actor/director out there that, at this point, I will make a point of seeing pretty much any project he is in. The guy is amazingly smart and talented.

But it finally fulfilled all those weird recurring dreams I'd had for years about a Maori Jew Hitler. Now I'm really afraid of dying from falling off a cliff or walking into a final exam for a class I forgot to attend all semester.

I had planned to watch that on a flight last year.

Covid. Still haven't been able to find it streaming.

Great movie. Nit sure where I have it all time, but easily my favorite movie to come out in the past 3-5 years. Well written and great performances across the board. My favorite may have been Yorki. If I had to find a flaw, Rebel Wilson was a bit overdone.

It was on HBO Max forever. Just 3.99 to rent now.

Well worth it.

The grenade scene is probably the hardest I've laughed in years, and I probably laugh just as hard every time I watch it.

Great movie

A thread devoted to movies where kids make the whole thing amongst some heavy hitting adults would be a good one.
Moonrise Kingdom comes to mind.

I first heard about this movie because the trailer played before The Rise of Skywalker.

Funny thing about this is I saw Rise of Skywalker while on vacation in Nuremburg, Germany. It was an English showing of the movie but there was definitely a sense of "do they really joke about that here...?" which added another layer of humor to the trailer.

Random anecdote aside, absolutely hilarious movie.

Absolutely love this movie. This is one of the movies where I'm fascinated by my imagination of the pitch to some producer/studio exec. "Well, it's a Nazi comedy about a child. Hitler is going to be hilarious."

The clout that Taika already had to be able to pull this off. And damn did it pay off.
