Superman: The Movie and the Lethal Weapon series are what I remember most from Donner, although I saw his name pop up while at the in-laws this past weekend during a Twilight Zone marathon that was airing. He directed the famous episode with William Shatner in an airplane seeing a thing on the wing of the plane, and no one believes him. (This was remade in the Twilight Zone movie in 1983 with John Lithgow and a much improved looking critter).

Goonies as well

His Superman is still my favorite ever committed to film. His respect for the material paved the way for what superhero films would become. Not campy, silly, or just for kids, his vision was to imagine what the world would be like if this was all really happening. How would that feel? What would we do? How would it look?

"You will believe a man can fly."



Couple Superman with Goonies, Lethal Weapon, and Scrooged, he stands with the greats from the era. Will be missed.

Certainly top 5.

The Goonies is an all-time classic and set the standard for kid-centered adventure movies in the 1980s and beyond.
