I've said it before and got blasted, but Top Gun is not a good movie. The writing and acting is bad and the romance is worse with zero chemistry. Maverick and Goose being gay lovers is more believable. The flying scenes are cool but probably make up like 15% of the actual movie. Also, it's just about the most inaccurate portrayal of the military of any movie.
