If two "homosexual scholars" say the source material is gay, I guess that's means it's really gay. Surely there was no agenda at play in their interpretation.

Next up, romeo and juliet were forced into a cis relationship by society, when in fact they interact gayly with their friends.

So this seems to be an art house film and now I'm much less intrigued. Conversely, it also explains the rave reviews. I have nothing against those films, but I like swords more especially when they are used.

Will maybe rent now.

Dude was confused about where it was coming from, I provided context. I'm sorry any hint of gay interpretation triggers you that much.

If you are correct the opinion two obscure "scholars" made it into a feature film.

It's cute how any criticism or discussion is labeled as triggering. Inoculating a weak argument from criticism is a btch move.

Just saw it here, very bizarre movie. Trying to decipher its deep hidden meaning and themes now. I'll get back to you

Not for everyone, but I absolutely loved this movie.

Why? Not challenging you, just honestly curious. I'm debating whether or not to see it and would love to hear why you liked it so much.

Too artsy fartsy for my wife and I. Pretty boring.

My wife as well as my best friend that went with us loved it too. It's really is my kind of movie. Very immersive, loose narrative but there's a lot packed into every scene. Honestly it's the most fun I have had at the movies in awhile. That being said, it's not for everybody. You just gotta kinda go in with no expectations, enjoy the scenery and kinda just watch it like a piece of art.

It's kind of like a trippy Pans Labyrinth in King Arthur's Court.

It was somewhere on the weirdness scale between Sleepy Hollow and The Lighthouse.

Tim Burton would be proud of this film

Impossible. Helena Bonham Carter isn't in it.

I absolutely loved this movie. Beautifully shot, beautifully acted, amazing symbolism, it was perfect.

For me it was meh. I read the poem in high school english, so faintly could recall the story.

For my wife, when the credits rolled, she stood up and said not so quietly, "I want my money back."

Watched it last night. Beautiful and masterly crafted in almost every way (acting, directing, costumes, sets, cinematography), but it is not an easy watch and not going to hold your hand or say anything too direct. Definitely a movie that will provide much more post-watching engagement to discuss themes, scenes, etc.

If you're someone who watches movies to feed your brain popcorn, it's probably not your cup of tea, but as someone who wants to go to a movie to be surprised and engaged, this checked all of my boxes.

Here's a blast from the past. Sean Connery as the Green Knight in Sword of the Valiant.

What's Tarzan doing playing Gawain?

Enjoyed Tarzan more because of, yep....Bo Derek.

For me, this movie was not enjoyable at all. You can tell it was an art house piece and it did have some great scenery shots, but so much of the movie dragged on without adding anything. You could have cut out half the runtime and not missed anything.

What you see as superfluous, I see as atmosphere, emotion, and connection. Perhaps you were looking for a movie version of dragon's lair.

Cool, thanks for making fun of me for having a different opinion about a movie. I know the story and just thought that they dragged out good portions of the movie for runtime. Just my opinion, no reason to be offended by it.

Here's hoping it is guess the right path style like the game. That'd be awesome. Kind of like that failed choose your own adventure movie Bandersnatch. Man, I really wanted to like that and they just did such a bad job with it.

So, y'all go to an arthouse character-study film, based on a nearly thousand year old Middle English poem, and then complain it doesn't have the Rock fighting aliens?

As cinema : 9/10 - been texting with my buddy after we saw it over the weekend discussing it. Highly recommend.

As popcorn-action flick : 0/10 - maybe Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch will provide the adrenaline I was hoping for.

Loved this one - watched it a few days ago and can't stop thinking about it. Visuals, acting, and story were great...leaves plenty to marinate on.
