Fly by Nick Drake and Spanish Bombs by The Clash in The Royal Tenenbaums

Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space by Spiritualized and Untitled 4 by Sigur Ros in Vanilla Sky

Reverse effect for me. Had seen them live a few times and I love that movie because of the entire soundtrack.

Not a movie but Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees was used perfectly at the end of an Entourage episode. I never really listened to them much before but have grown to appreciate them since.

Grosse Point Blank - Blister in the Sun by the Violent Femmes and Rudi Can't Fail by the Clash.

Hell yeah, Rudi Can't Fail doesn't get enough pub in the Clash catalog.

Also same movie...the use of "Mirror in the Bathroom" and "Under Pressure" in their respective scenes from the reunion....that was top notch.

I fell in love with the music the first time I watched the movie and never looked back. Still listen to soundtrack to this day.

I could probably pick 5-10 songs from Wes Anderson movies but let's go with this one as I was 20 when the movie came out and only knew a couple Kinks songs. This opened me up to discovering one of the greatest and most underrated bands of all time.

Eye of the Tiger - Survivor (Rocky III)

Axel F. - Harold Faltermeyer (Beverly Hills Cop)
Extreme Ways - Moby (the way it was repeatedly used to kick off the Bourne end credits)
Space Oddity - Bowie / Kristen Wiig (Secret Life of Walter Mitty) -- have always liked the song, but the way it was used here was great

Separate, but related? Over the years, I discovered that I particularly enjoyed scores composed by certain composers:
Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, POTC, Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Kung Fu Panda, etc., etc.)
Harry Gregson-Williams (Chronicles of Narnia, Prince of Persia, The Martian)
John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Bourne series, also Kung Fu Panda)

later learned that Gregson-Williams and Powell were both understudies of Zimmer to some extent

also loved Michael Giacchino's score for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot

Always liked the song from "How The West was Won"
Had always hoped the aggie band would adopt and play it similar to Pattons Theme.

Basically the entire soundtrack to Real Genius. I'm Falling and Number One are particularly great......not to mention the song during the ending credits.

Also the Breakfast Club....obviously Don't You Forget About Me is well known, but Fire in the Twilight and We Are Not Alone are great tracks.
