I'm actually surprised this happened so quickly. His statement about not touring this go around was pretty casual just three weeks ago. Sucks:TXAG 05 said:
Had a feeling his time was short when they announced he wouldn't be going on tour with them.

"Charlie has had a procedure which was completely successful, but his doctors this week concluded that he now needs proper rest and recuperation," a rep for the band said in a statement. "With rehearsals starting in a couple of weeks it's very disappointing to say the least, but it's also fair to say no one saw this coming."
In a statement, Watts joked that "for once, my timing has been a little off." "I am working hard to get fully fit but I have today accepted on the advice of the experts that this will take a while," he added. "After all the fans' suffering caused by Covid, I really do not want the many RS fans who have been holding tickets for this tour to be disappointed by another postponement or cancellation. I have therefore asked my great friend Steve Jordan to stand in for me."

RIP Charlie.
Just to give you some perspective on how long they've been around. I saw the Stones at the Joe Freeman Coliseum in 1964. They opened for Leslie Gore. Won the tickets on KTSA.

On June 6 and 7 in 1964, The Rolling Stones performed two shows at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, becoming the first British Invasion band to play in Texas.
But by many accounts of the event, the show was a shambles.
The 10-day Teen Fair of Texas lineup included Bobby Vee, country singer George Jones and the Marquis Chimps, which was a trio of monkeys, according to an advertisement that was published in the San Antonio Express-News in 1964.
"The Marquis Chimps proved to be chumps, and if the Rolling Stones had stayed a day longer, they'd have gathered moss," wrote a San Antonio Light columnist at the time.
An archive article found in the San Antonio Light called the Teen Fair "badly managed" and "ill-timed."

The site went on to quote a passage from Rolling Stones bassist Wyman's memoir, "Stone Alone."
"The concert was in the open air and everyone got a poor reception from a mixed crowd of cowboys and kids," he wrote. "We had to go on after some performing monkeys. What the hell were we doing here? People didn't know whether to take us seriously or as a joke. What had we let ourselves in for? Crowds were great to us at airports and hotels, but these two shows set us back years!"

I had to look at that article a couple of times to be sure that The Marquis Chimps weren't George Jones' back up band.LawHall88 said:aggiejim70 said:
