DAMN IT!!!! One of the best.

His appearances on Carolla were great.

His talk show on YouTube was masterful. I've watched the first episode with Super Dave at least half a dozen times, and now they are both gone. F!

His passing makes me fondly remember the time Will Ferrell took the shot at NBC while appearing as Harry Cary on Weekend Update. The week after McDonald was canned and Colin Quinn took over as the weekend update host, Ferrell was on reviewing 1997 and threw out, "Hey Norm, have you put on weight?"

You could feel that wave of uneasy laughter and tension ride through the audience. Always thought that was one of Ferrell's best moves in comedy.

And yeah, **** Ohlmeyer. He threw a PARTY for the jurors who acquitted OJ. Active D-bag ray, maximum firepower.


He calls him Norm around the 1 minute mark, then asks if he gained weight a minute later.

He deconstructed comedy in a way no one else could. He would basically make fun of his own joke as he was telling it, and in all way that made you see how simplistic the joke was, which made it funnier.
He was awesome. RIP.

Celebrity deaths don't usually get to me, but I'm holding back tears on this one. Norm is a legend. An all time favorite. If I am ever having a bad day, feeling down…nothing like going down a Norm rabbit hole on YouTube to make everything all right. Damn. Rest well, Norm. You did good work on this earth.

For some reason I would laugh just reading his tweets speaking very plainly about sports...mostly golf. There would be no joke in there at all but I'd laugh that Norm was just taking in a Saturday tweeting updates on Koepka's 3rd round.

Just realized his last tweet was 7/16. Didn't even realize it had been a few months since I had seen one.

Not only was Norm hilarious, but he was brave. He was never afraid to say funny things, even if they might offend someone. He could pull it off because he never came off as mean-spirited; just someone observing the realities of modern life.

It's amazing to watch some of his old bits today, given the current social environment.

Norm Macdonald was one of the funniest people, imo. Also a comedian who was considered one of the funniest by many other comedians.

By far, the best guest on Conan. I've always loved this one:

Conan was on the cusp of losing it during the filming of this show because of everything that happened with him and Leno. Only the mastery of Norm could make fun of someone and actually help heal him.

Seriously though, my all-time favorite SNL cast member since seeing his Bob Dole impersonation during the '96 presidential election. Really sad to hear this.
